india: NEW DELHI, DEL

I can strongly recommend to anyone stuck waiting at the international airport in New Delhi to ask their family, friends, hotel or houseboy to please make them a picnic bag to carry along with them. There is a restaurant upstairs in the departure hall, but, it is overpriced, and the selection and quality of the food leave much to be desired. Since planes can be delayed in Delhi, it's not a bad idea to eat a meal before arriving at the airport to begin with. Once passengers have passed through the security checks and have gone to their departure gates there's absolutely no possibility for obtaining food of any kind. This can be troublesome if you're hungry, or traveling with children.
