Photographer: Prof. Kenneth G. Madden
Route: LG to DFW, 2004-07-08
Date added: 2009-11-18
Flight duration: 2h 30m
Flight class: business
Ticket price: Round-Trip $216.70 + 6 upgrades ($150.00)
Aircraft: B-757-231 TWA F/C
Meal: Breakfast Mexican omelet, fruit plate, bagel
Drink: Orange Juice & Iced Tea
Comments: Did not like the sauce surrounding the omelet; seems I complained about this same dish out of LAX about a year ago--AA really listens. Would have preferred bacon and hash browns. Other choice was pancakes. CO still has better meals up front and free upgrades for elite pax, but trying to book reasonable award travel through the Nonepass Program is like pulling teeth, hence my defection back to AA.

Route: Boston, USA to Miami, USA, 2004-03-09
Date added: 2009-11-18
Flight duration: approximately twoh 00m
Flight class: business
Ticket price: Not sure, as it was included in the group tour
Aircraft: A300-600, Coach
Meal: Beverage Service A bag of pretzels I saved for later
Drink: Ginger Ale for first round, then orange juice and club soda mix for second round
Comments: Sucks how meals weren't served for such an early flight. However, thanks to the airport's "Carry Out, Carry In!" campaign for every restaurents, I was able to bring a sandwich with a bag of chips, which are not pictured.

Route: LA to JFK, 2003-10-15
Date added: 2009-11-18
Flight duration: 5h 00m
Flight class: business
Ticket price: $2200 + VIP upgrade
Aircraft: 767-200, First
Meal: Lunch Macadamia encrusted breast of chicken with sauteed zuchinni, squash, and mashed potatoes.
Drink: Water, Tomato Juice
Comments: Pretty good. Best of the meal is the sundae (and freshed baked cookies prior to landing). Unfortunately, I did not take pictures of those two. AA's Flagship service in F on the 767-200 is about the best way you can get from coast to coast. Very enjoyable with a personal DVD player/movies, and the "wooly mammoth seat," which is AA's version of a Barcalounger.

Flight class: business
Ticket price: ~$2200 + VIP upgrade
Aircraft: 767-200, First
Meal: Lunch Salad. The Flagship service in F on this route is quite extensive. You can add all kinds of extras like vegetables, salmon, or chicken, making the salad a meal in itself. Since I was having an entree also, I just added some tomatoes, mushrooms and artichokes
Drink: Water, Tomato Juice
Comments: Very good.

Route: AA 100 JF to LHR, 2004-06-20
Date added: 2009-11-18
Flight duration: 6h 00m
Flight class: business
Ticket price: 800+ (ticket was JFK-LHR-NCL and then DUB-JFK)
Aircraft: Boeing 777
Meal: (Vegan) Dinner Tofu with onions and peppers over rice with a salad, roll, and a vegan desert.
Drink: Cranberry-apple (not pictured) (the meal came with a bottle of water)
Comments: Wow! The main dish was a large helping with a few good chunks of tofu and nice sauteed veggies. The rice was bit overcooked, but not bad. The salad was very green and fresh. I have to give credit to AA for finding a vegan desert (as most airlines just do fruit), and one that was pretty good. Having flown JFK-SFO earlier in the year and gotten a bland rice dish with veggies (see picture 230 under American Airlines) I was very surprised that this meal contained tofu, and was excellent. (Now if they could only work on breakfast.)

Date added: 2009-11-18
Flight duration: 6h 00m
Flight class: business
Ticket price: 800+ (ticket was JFK-LHR-NCL and then DUB-JFK)
Aircraft: Boeing 777
Meal: (Vegan) Breakfast Food bar, raisins, and a bagel
Drink: Orange juice (included with the meal)
Comments: Horrible! The bagel was hard and had no taste at all; it was the worst airline bagel I ever had. The raisins were horrible. The margarine contained milk (only soy-margarine does not contain milk) and not only was the food bar practically candy with the high-sugar and low-protein, it was not vegan! It even said on the wrapping "contains milk". Honestly, American Airlines...

Route: AA 100 JF to LHR, 2004-06-20

Flight duration: 6h 00m
Flight class: business
Ticket price: 800+ (ticket was JFK-LHR-NCL and then DUB-JFK)
Aircraft: Boeing 777
Meal: Breakfast Yogurt, raisins, and a warm croissant
Drink: Orange juice (included with the meal)
Comments: The warm croissant was a nice touch, as most airlines just serve something wrapped in plastic. The yoghurt was a bit funny tasting, as were the raisins. This was certainly better than most red-eye breakfasts.

Comments: I was surprised to find out that they had cranberry-apple on the flight, as it is usually only on domestic sectors. Although this has nothing to do with food, the nice thing is that the 777 has the tray tables that fold in half that are perfect for the beverage service and other functions during the flight. More airlines should definitely do this. Throughout the flight, one of the flight attendants would come by and give me a can of the juice, which I thought was very nice and makes you feel "personal"?
