Comments: The SIA lounge at LHR is pretty good, with
a Raffles and a First Class area. The Raffles bit is upstairs, past the
waterfall (!) and has a small sleeping area (with 3 couch beds) 3 computers
(now updated and really fast) a bar (not self service - there is a barman)
and a food counter.
Fod varies with the 3 flights in the day. For the evening flights there
is hot food, with Spring Rolls and spicy samosas. These are crispy with
lots of curry flavour - the spice is brewed according to Singapore, not
English, tastes, and may take the top of your head off.
There are also plenty of sandwiches, with the salmon and cheese ones being
really good.
The bar is great, and will even make a decent Singapore Sling. On the
bar are two bottles of wine - when I was there it was Hunters 2001 Pinot
Noir, and Hautes Cotes De Nuits Blanc. These are Singapore's "Wines
of the month" and are generally really good. Alas, the bar has stopped
serving champers.

Comments: I enjoyed my time spent in the LHR Silver Kris
Lounge. Star Gold members not flying First Class use the upper level which
gives a good view of the LHR Terminal 3 Apron. In addition to the usual
lounge food of nuts, cheese, biscuits.... there is a nice selection of
sandwiches and hot snacks. The Spring Rolls were crispy, the spicy samosa
was not only crispy but had a good curry flavour. The spiciness gave me
a bit of a shock at first but I enjoyed it!!
For the first time in ages, the wines looked tempting enough for me to
try some. (usually, I stick to beer or spirits) I can't remember much
about the white apart from the fact but I enjoyed it. The Pinot Noir was
excellent. Slightly 'sweetish' nose, nice cherry/raspberry flavours.
