| Comments: | Our tables were prepared with good quality table cloths, heavy linen serviettes and I was also impressed by the other amenities that the airline provided like Tooth Picks, Smint Mouth Fresheners, Cruet set (pictured), and refresher towels. However, the decision to not use metal cutlery was odd and let the presentation down. The starter (pictured) was very substantial; however, the Lebanese cheese (to the left) was rather salty. The salad garnish was fresh and tasty, however. Never before have I seen an assortment of bread and croissants like I was offered with MEA- Cheese croissants, donuts, sun dried tomato bread, traditional Lebanese flat bread, mini baguettes, toast, ciabatta and Olive bread were just some of the choices available. I was extremely impressed by this. The main course was a bit of a let down (not pictured) – not owing to the general quality of the meal (which was excellent) but rather the temperature at which it was served (luke warm) An abundance of beverages were offered- herbal teas, coffees to Verve champagne, fresh juices, water, liquors and Arak. But as this was a morning flight, I chose Orange Juice and a coffee, which was very nice. After the main course, we were offered a fruit basket, containing Cherries, Plums, Apples, Oranges and Kiwi. The fruit was fresh and served on clean plates. Prior to landing in the UK, passengers were offered a variety of Lebanese pastries, beautifully presented in little boxes embossed with the MEA logo. I had mine at home the day after and was impressed by the general quality of the sweets. Can’t really fault the meal service- nicer than the food, meal, catering onboard my last Business class flight with Malaysian to Sydney, but perhaps not as good as the meal service on a Business class service to Beirut with British Airways I experienced. |

| Comments: | For a one-hour flight, I simply can't complain. Infact, I wasn't expecting anything except maybe a drink and some crackers or peanuts. But to my surprise, I got a full light cold lunch which was delicious! I can tell you that Cedar Class passengers got a full meal. Staff were extremely friendly and professional. Before take-off, they passed out newspapers for anyone who wanted to read. Right when we began our descent into Beirut, they passed out Werther's hard caramel candy for us to suck on to keep our ears open. An extremely nice touch. On longer flights such as those to Paris and London, full hot meals are served. MEA truly represents Lebanon. By far the best airline in the Middle East! |
