German Sekt Sparkling wine called 'Lufthansa Lounge Brut'
Comments: I made a mistake with my flight times and
arrived too early. I checked in at 10:30 for a 13:25 flight. No worries,
this gave me plenty of time to chill out in the HAM Lufthansa Senator
lounge.
It isn't the best LH Senator lounge I've vistited. It's small and there's
no view of the runway but the amenities are adequate. For some unknown
reason, the people in the Business Lounge get a great view of the runway
and the Senator lounge has a view of a car-park. Totally unfair! :-(
Anyway, the good thing is that the armchairs in the Senator lounge are
much wider and more comfortable.
I didn't have any breakfast so started off with a roll and potato salad
with a noodle salad. Now.. this was a strange experience... the potato
salad looked like an absolute mess but tasted great. The noodle salad
appeared to be light and delicately flavoured but left a horrible taste
in my mouth!
Stomach full. I then proceeded to sample the wine. I poured myself a few
glasses of the 'Lufthansa Lounge Brut' made by Kessler. Refreshingly fruity,
slightly off-dry and enjoyable. I noticed a sign in German that said something
to the effect that they will give you champagne if you ask. This sign
wasn't in English... perhaps LH don't want the non German speakers to
drink their Champagne?! I didn't have enough German conversational ability
to ask for the Champagne so had to make do with the Sekt. :-(
