Route: Dublin - Amsterdam, 2 Oct 2006
Ticket price:
Flight duration: 1h 15m
Class: one class only
Aircraft: Airbus A321

1 Black pudding
1 White pudding
2 sausages
2 rashers
1 half tomato
Few Potatoes
2 slice of bran bread + butter and marmelade
Drink: Orange Juice and Tea or Coffee
Comments: For 8 Euros, it's not the best irish breakfast on earth but fair enough for a Low-Cost airline that Aer Lingus is on its short haule. You would not get that on many any other low cost airlines in Europe.

The bread was hard in parts.
Take the chicken stuffed sandwich instead.

Meal: Standard coach class - Pasta salad with mixed vegetables tossed in a dressing; dinner roll with Irish butter; bran table crackers with mild cheddar (from Co. Cork); beef lasagna; Chocolati dessert bar; dinner mint
Drink: water and coffee
Comments: The pasta salad tasted like it was mixed with some sort of dried bbq sauce (actually not as bad as it sounds); the lasagna was fairly mundane (bland and cheesy); best part of the meal was the cheddar cheese

Route: Vienna - Dublin, 1 Aug 2005
Ticket price: € 65
Flight duration: 2h 55m
Class: economy
Aircraft: Airbus A320-200
Meal: snack - For € 3 you get a selection of salted crackers, a portion cheese and a not very tasty liver paté.
Drink: terrible “Nescafé” instant coffee
Comments: As Aer Lingus only offers low cost service on their Europe routes you have to pay for everything, also for the newspaper (but the “Irish Times” is available at the same price as in Ireland). Friendliness seems to cost also extra…

Route: New York(JFK) to Dublin Intl, 13 June2005
Ticket price: $535
Flight duration: 6 1/2 hours
Aircraft type & class: economy
Business or leisure trip: leisure
Meal type: dinner
Contents of the meal: Chicken with gravy, roasted potatoes, string beans, side salad, Italian dressing, crackers, hard roll, butter, sharp cheddar cheese, Andes mint and custard for dessert.
Drink: Water, and tea later on
Comments: At first I was scared to eat the chicken in gravy but it was edible--although the chicken was a bit fatty and on a bone. The roasted potatoes were good but minimal, the string beans and salad fair. I did not care for the indistinguishable dessert. The Andes mint was the highlight of the meal.

Ticket price: $520 RT
Flight duration: 7 hours
Aircraft type & class: A330-300 Economy
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Fruit meal (pre ordered, special meal)
-Big fruit salad
-Small fruit salad
-Salad
-Roll, cheese, crackers
-Water, coffee etc
-Looked tasty, and was that.
-The big fruit salad was really fresh, which is just rare in the airline meals
-The roll and cheese are a weird addition to fruit meal, as it's supposed to be for those who eat nothing but fruit, extreme vegans.
-The breakfast in this flight consisted of a roll with ham ... which was the same for all the passengers. Even considering that (I don't eat any meat, so just orange juice for breakfast) I'd give the meals about 8-8,5 points (in scale 1-10) because the fruit salad thing was tasty, and pretty too.
-After this first experience with fruit meal, this has already become my favorite special meal type in planes.
