Meal: SHOULD BE: DBML-Breakfast - The original DBML-Breakfast had a WONDERFUL
large fruit plate. But due to mistake served to another passenger. After
I asked for my DBML breakfast she took away from the other passenger
my breakfast while he already started to eat and try to find out what
he had started to eat and what she still can take from his tray on mine
and v. v.
No idea if this this omelette with aspargus and potatoes is part of DBML.
Drink: Water
Comments: Good reason just to rebook my long-haul flight from Air Canada
to Austrian Airlines!!!
Rating only for main course of breakfast.

Meal: Standard - Roast lamb and new potatoes with carrots and green beans
in gravy. Roll, salad and dressing. Chocolate bar. Ice-cream served for
dessert (didn't eat)
Drink: Water
Comments: This is the best airplane meal i've ever had! The lamb was tender
and flavourful, I would have been happy being served this on the ground!
The veggies were fine. The salad dressing was mostly sunflower oil (and
balsamic) pretending to be olive oil but the green leaf salad was crisp
and fresh. The roll was dry, not great. Enjoying washing this meal down
with a few complimentary Sleeman's Cream Ales - a great Canadian smooth
ale/beer/lager.

Comments: Special meal: (1) Taste not bad but quiet oily. It was released
due to the 4 hours flight delay. Available by the airline. It was produced
by the Japanese fast food store in the Airport food court.
Lunch: (1) It is not enought for Adult men, too little~ (2) the stri fry
beef taste so salty and awful, texture are so terrible (3) the geleto
is a great refreshment
Dinner: (1) stewed beef taste very BAD, (2) not enought for adult men,

Meal: Breakfast- Both Options - Meal #1: Scrambled Eggs, Waffles
Meal #2: Omelette, Sausage, Potatoes
Both: Fruit salad and a lump of inedible bread
Drink: Orange Juice
Comments: The waffle was quite enjoyable- a bit stale, but with a pleasant
flavor, until you got underneath and discovered a disgusting combination
of extremely thick corn syrup and apples- at least I think they were apples.
They ruined the flavor of the waffles as soon as they came in contact
with it. The omelette was quite good, and although the sausages did taste
distinctly reheated, they were tasty. The potatoes were unflavored and
chewy. The bread, as said above, was just plain inedible, but the fruit
was fresh and delicious!

with butter, a variety of salads, which included mayonaise-y pasta salad,
plain chicken, a green salad, a tomato-coverd mass, and one shrimp...
and Hagen Dazs ice cream
Drink: red wine
Comments: The curry was a dissapointment. The chicken was too chicken-y
tasting and should have been cooked in the curry to absorb some flavor.
The peas in the rice, however, were decent. The salad was strange. I don't
like mayonaise on salad, and the tomato-covered thing was questionable.
The plain chicken was too much. I only liked the green salad. The dinner
was overshadowed by the delicious red wine and the spectacular finale
of vanilla Hagen Dazs... yummy.

a very unpleasant tomatoey sauce. It was fatty, chewy and the skin was
still on it. The noodles were barely cooked and flavourless. The salad
was at least edible, but rather odd. It was part green salad, part potato
salad and sprinkled with cheese cubes. I can’t believe Air Canada

Dessert: Pre-packaged fruits
Drink: Bottle of spring water, coffee
Comments: I couldn't quite believe it when I was asked "Congee or
omelette"! I was completely surprised that they actually serve congee,
so I must try it. Obviously it is not as good as the ones in a Chinese
restaurant, but it was quite thoughtful for the airline to cater to the
interests of the many Hong Kongers on the flight. Again the meal was hot,
and ltasted almost as good as it looked.
The fruits didn't feel too much like canned fruits, which was welcoming,
but I could use a few more slices. The breakfast bun was ice cold again.
I guess there is no room in the heaters for both buns and food trays.
Coffee from Second Cup was good as usual.
This route was one of those Air Canada promoted with their new menu, and
I'm impressed! I hope they stay with CARA as their flight caterer and
not switch to Sky Chef

Contents of the meal: Small breakfast bun (already consumed)
Cassarole: Alfredo with (lots of )meat sauce, along with carrots and peas
Dessert: Pre-packaged salad, ice cream
Drink: Bottle of spring water, coffee
Comments: Since the flight was delayed by 2+ hours, it was almost dinner
time when this was served. However, I was not disappointed. The food looked
good AND tasted delicious. The generous serving of hot meat sauce is a
plus. The salad seemed quite fresh, and wasn't bad at all.
I also enjoyed the little tub of Haagen-Daas ice cream, since I don't
even buy that brand of ice cream at home because it is too expensive!
The only drawbacks were the cheap plastic spoons that were not good at
scooping the ice cream. Quite a few people snapped them while they were
digging. Also, it would be better if the breakfast bun was not ice cold.
Notice also those 2 bags of mixed snacks on the right side of the picture.
Those were left over from the time the F/A served us snacks.
I got 4 bags of those! Maybe it is no longer the scrooge airline I know...
This route was one of those Air Canada promoted with their new menu, and
I'm impressed! I hope they stay with CARA as their flight caterer and
not switch to Sky Chef

Route: YVR to NRT, 5 Dec 2004
Ticket price: CDN$1300
Flight duration: 10 hours 15 mins
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 767, Economy
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Dinner
Contents of the meal: chicken breast, in some kind of gravy, with a mildly
spicy white rice; some steamed carrots and broccoli; a white, sesame bun
with whipped butter; a potato salad cup (that white stuff in the upper
left) and a small green salad on the side with a ginger shaving on top
(but no dressing); ice cream cups were given out after the meal was finished
Drink:a bottle of spring water from the airline’s own company along
with a drink of your choice from the cart
Comments: The meal was O.K.: the chicken was fairly good, the rice was
good, and the vegetables were fine. The potato salad tasted like some
kind of paste to fix cracks in walls. The leaves of the green salad were
curling and very dry. The bun was a bit too firm.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 6.5 - All in all, this meal wasn’t bad.
It wasn’t exactly filling, but it got me by.

Flight duration: 8h 15min
Aircraft type & class: A330-300, economy
Business or leisure trip: leisure
Meal type: lunch
Contents of the meal: chicken, beans, rice with sauce, green salad with
balsamico dressing, roll, butter
Drink: water
Comments: The brown sauce that comes with the chicken is more ore less
what
you expect to have with roasted pork and the beans are some rubbery green
sticks. Nevertheless it was an average economy class lunch and the meat
and
salad were quite tasty.
