Route: Paris CDG to Turin, 16 Nov 2003
Flight Duration: 1hr10 minutes
Class: Economy class on A320.
Meal type: Lunch
A sandwich with tuna salad.
Drink: A coke out of a selection of soft drinks/juices and tea/coffee.
Comments: Very standard sandwich: filling was almost non-existent and flavourless, bread was a good exercise for your mouth muscles (read very chewy). The other option was a ham sandwich. Despite this it was a nice flight.

Route: CDG to ATL, 24 Oct 2003
Ticket price: FF miles
Flight duration: 9 hours
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 777 / Tempo class
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Dinner
Contents of the meal: Smoked Salmon and penne pesto salad*sauté of beef with Provençale-style sauce, sautéed mixed vegetables and potatoes*Camembert*fruit yogurt*lemon tart*baguette*Coffee and Tea
Drink: Red wine: Medoc 2002 Chateau Something and water. Plus an aperitif of champagne.
Comments: OK. Basic airline meal — though compared to my seat mates’ dinners, my beef was missing the colorful orange Provençale-style. So the beef was pretty dry. The veggies were tasty. I made a sandwich out of the quite good baguette and smoked salmon. The President Camembert and butter were also good. I ate those with the second baguette that the flight attendants gave us. Since I am allergic to nuts, I didn’t try either the pesto pasta or the lemon tart because 30,000 feet up isn’t a good place for anaphylactic shock.

Flying from Lisbon to Paris CDG, 27 July 2003
Flight Duration: 2h20
Aircraft type: Airbus A320, Economy
Meal type: Dinner - Russian salad; chicken with gravy and sauteed potatoes; cheese and bread; pastel de nata.
Drink: Julienas red burgundy
Comments: I don't particularly like russian salad which doesn't mean it wasn't good. Chicken OK but a bit dry and potatoes were soggy and tasteless. I like Rondele cheese so that was fine. The Portuguese national pastry was a nice touch and not too bad.

Flying from Paris CDG to Lisbon, 25 July 2003
Flight duration: 2h30
Aircraft type: Airbus A320, Economy
Meal type: Dinner - Cucumber salad; sweet and sour ravioli; gruyere cheese; bread and peach tart
Drink: Corsican white wine
Comments: Scandalous! This meal was so bad. The salad looked like the contents of a used airsick bag had been dumped on my tray - it looked alot worse than in this photo. My brother and his friend sitting next to me wouldn't even touch it - it was that scary. The ravioli dumpings were far worse in taste than the salad - all mushy and too sweet. Cheese OK as was tart. The real scandal was we were flying in Tempo Challenge class which is premium economy for Air France's European flight. On the airline's website, they say free champagne is offered in this "in between" class, but when I asked they said only in business class. THAT IS FALSE ADVERTISING! SHAME ON AIR FRANCE! Buyer and traveller beware!

Flight Duration: 3h15
Aircraft type: Airbus A321, Economy
Meal type: Dinner - Pasta salad with ham; whitefish with saffron rice; gouda cheese; bread and an apple cobbler
Drink: French chablis
Comments: Not good! Pasta salad boring and tasteless. Fish very dry - you had to water it down to swallow! Bread not crusty - more like a brioche.
Cobbler OK. Air France - it only gets worse and worse!

Flying from Paris-CDG to Athens, 10 July 2003
Flight Duration: 3h15
Aircraft type: Airbus A321, economy
Meal type: Dinner - Cabbage, endive, pine nut and raisin salad with curry; salmon ravioli (those are salmon specks not ham), cheese, bread and cherry clafoutis
Drink: Julienas, red burgundy
Comments: Salad good, salmon ravioli was thoroughly disgusting and very salty. There was very little salmon taste to it. I like the Rondele cheese, even if it is processed. Bread is hard as usual. And the dessert was OK.
Air France is having some serious food, meal, catering problems as of late - so it would seem!

Flying from Paris CDG to Tunis, 1 June 2003
Flight duration: 2h28
Aircraft type: Airbus A320
Class: Business
Meal type: Dinner - Shrimp; Chicken (I think) in a gravy with grilled pepper, tomato, green beans and boiled potatoes; cheese; strawberry tart; and chocolate bar (like a 3 Musketeers bar).
Drink: Water and Red Bordeaux wine
Comments: The shrimp was very good, the main course bland, the cheese good (the camembert was better on the flight leaving Tunisia than the one leaving France a few days before!), the tart was nice, but where did that chocolate bar come from? Did it fall off of a kiddy tray?
