- Medalion of duck foie gras, lentil salad
- Salmon ravioli with dill sauce
- Camembert, fresh fruit and
- country-style apple tartlet
- bread
Drink: red vine "Merlot" or white wine "Chardonnay"
Comments: Disgusting foi gras *pfui* , good apple tartlet,
red wine delicious.
Service was adequate. Beverages and sandwiches were available in the galleys
during the flight (self-service). Sandwiches tasted better than served
meal. Nevertheless worse than expected for a French airline.

Route: Mauritius MRU - Paris PAR, 11 Dec 2003
Flight duration: 11 hours
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 747
Business or leisure trip: leisure Business Class
Meal type: Lunch + Dinner
Comments: The choice was bad + dessert not the famous
dessert buffet. They told me that it was because this is a more "leisure"
destination and they only offer one dessert (no choice).
Good point: We were at upper deck with only 6 pax.

Route: Paris (CDG) to Atlanta (ATL), 14 Dec 2003
Ticket price: $800 + SkyMiles upgrade
Flight duration: 9 hours
Aircraft type & class: Airbus A340-300 L'Espace
Affaires (business class)
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Lunch
[144] Appetizer - duck foie gras with marmalade
[145] Main course - Free range chicken with potatoes au gratin
[146] Cheese - Roquefort, Camembert, and I can't remember what the other
one was
[147-148] Dessert - Chocolate cake and petits fours basket
Drink: They had a red bordeaux wine and a red burgundy,
but their bordeaux was better. With dessert, I had an armanagnac XO.
Comments: Although smaller in quantity than Delta's BusinessElite
meal service, the overall quality was better. The foie gras was just as
good as you would find on any restaurant on the ground, and French butter
tastes much better than it's American counterpart. Chicken was typical
airline chicken (overdone and tough), but the heavenly potatoes and sauces
made up for it.
Cheese selection was very good as well, even though I didn't have room
tofinish it. Although I do like the ice cream that the US airlines give
you, the cake was pretty good as well. (After reading so many rave
reviews of the petits fours basket, I had to ask for one. It was pretty
good, but not the best dessert I've ever eaten) Wines were great, and
AF has a self service bar in the espace cabin on long haul flights.

Aircraft and class: Airbus, Economy

Meal type: Regular, dinner
Green Salad with mimosa style egg and Turkey
Broccoli terrine with crayfish and
three-vegetable salad
Rondelé
Apple crumble
Drink: Red Wine (VDP d'Oc Merlot 2002 Maison Louis Eschenauer),
tea
Coments: Flew AF couple of years a go on a different
Intercontinental flight. Since then their service has been improved a
lot. Earlier this year I flew with AF from Miami to Paris and to and from
Zagreb, service was excellent, so I am quite sure that this flight was
no exception.
