Comments: Second meal of the flight. Seated at the back
of the plane, we didn't have a choice for the first one (had strange looking
"stir-fried" noodles), but service started at the back for the
second meal so choice was available (can't remember the other choice).
Everything tasted really nice. Overall, service on this flight was really
good with snacks being served regularly.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 7 (for the lack of choice for
the first meal)

Route: Papeete to Los Angeles, 2 Jan 2004
Flight duration: 9 hours !!!!
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 767-300, Pacific Class
Business or leisure trip: Posintioning crew
Meal type: Breakfast
Drink: Tea and Apple Juice
Comments: A fantastic crew looked after us, my last flight
on NZ was in 1998 and I was travelling in Business Class and I was very
impressed by the airline. 5 years later They are still a very good quality
airline and one of the best for me !!!
This is the second breakfast served for the flight, It had a large spinach
quiche with chicken or veal sausage and tomatoes.
A small bowl of fresh fruits, Orange Juice, butter and jelly and a warm
mini baguette. Wow !!! Was this quiche incredible !!! I must say that
it scored a perfect 10 for me and the fact that they served fresh tahitian
fruits was real good too compare to some airlines which serve tin fruit
cocktails !!!
Rating: 10 !!! For the Quiche and the fresh fruits !!!

Night flight and picture turned out better than expected using overhead
light. This time there was no pre-dinner drink or snack. Regular biz class
pax sitting next to me was waiting for it in anticipation but never got
it. So he complained to the female F/A only to be told that the flight
left late and it was a short flight so they decided not to do it. He said
he always got his drink. The female F/A gave him his drink and also told
him that pretty soon biz class would be getting economy food! ...I thought
to myself ..."that was an interesting response". I guess she
must be referring to the new Tasman Express that kicks in 29th Oct. He
turned to me and complained that service was gradually going down the
toilet. The appetiser was ok, a tad fishy. Garlic bread served warm (+1
point). Plastic knife (-1 point). I picked the prawns because I had steak
for the last 5 days in a row. The prawns looked good but tasted foul.
I nearly turned as green as the noodle after 2 bites. The male F/A offered
me another option (+ 2 points). I have never been a fan of lamb shanks
because of all the tendons and boney bits. Sure enough this meal had bits
of bone etc. I did not finish it but could not anyway as I was still recovering
from the prawns....where's my hunk of dead animal flesh?

Comments: This time I had lounge access with my upgrade
the way it should be, picture of lounge food attached. Also winter is
nearly over and managed to better light my subject with the ambient light
from the window. The appetiser was good, not too fishy. Garlic & olive
bread served warm (+1 point). Plastic knife (-1 point). The beef was a
little tough and stringy in texture. Looked better than it tasted. Would
have preferred a hunk of meat. Great inflight service and was addresses
by name (+1 point). Kudos to the friendly air steward.
