Meal: High Tea - Fruit chaat (mix fruit with spicy seasoning), salt &
pepper soup, butter, bread sticks, cheese and bombay/gujarati potato sandwich,
lemon cake.
Drink: Apple juice and water
Comments: Served "SUBWAY"style. It was dinner time as the flight
was delayed. Not quite upto the mark. Full of carbs was this. I would
rather have a proper meal. The cake was too sweet. The soup was hot but
served at an inappropriate time.

Ticket price: INR3400 (USD79)
Flight duration: 1h 20m
Class: economy
Aircraft: Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-200
Meal: Dinner - (anti-Clockwise from lower left)
Amul butter
Veg Salad with (olive?) oil
Rice with 2 curries: spicy chicken curry and chole curry
Fresh Bun
Sweet dish - 2 gulab jamuns (deep fried sweetballs soaked in sugar syrup)
Water from perpaked bottle
Drink: Water and (later) tea/coffee
Comments: The PNQ-HYD direct flight takes only 1 hour. However their evening
flight takes a mad detour via-BLR.
This was the dinner we were served on the PNQ-BLR segment: a 1 hour 20
minute flight.
Though there were 2 curries: the qty of the curries on offer was pretty
limited. The veg option was exactly the same except for the chicken curry
being replaced by Paneer Butter Masala curry.
Other than the limited qty, The meal was of excellent quality as were
the staff (2 FA's including 1 male FA) who worked hard despite the constraints.
Fresh Meals were loaded during the halt at BLR. The airline again served
a full dinner ont he 1 hour hop to HYD which was much better: it included
masala papads and biryani! Never seen papads on an airline meal before!
Unfortuantely i didnt take the meal on this segment so no pics!

Cucumber & Tomato salad. No dressing
Mata Paneer, Rice, Chana (chickpea curry).
Dessert: Gulab Jamun followed with a couple of aniseed ball sweets
Drink:

Water.
Comments: I got the Jain menu completely by chance. I haven't taken up
the religion and I doubt I ever will being that they are not allowed any
garlic, onion, meat, milk products or eggs.
One general comment about the Air Sahara flights I found amusing. Only
business class passengers are issued with life jackets. The pasengers
in economy are instructed to use their seat cushions for flotation!

Comments: I wasn't expecting anything on a 50 minute flight and I thought
that the sweet and carton of apple juice, a pleasant offering. Then came
the tray of delicious food. What a surprise. I wish that the flight was
a bit longer so that I didn't have to rush through the meal. The crew
ran a very slick operation. I wouldn't hesitate to fly with Sahara again.

Candy.
Drink: n/a.
Comments: These boxes were handed out to passengers after
check in. I didn’t want to remove the picture of the actual meal
served on board or even eat it, as it was the worst experience I have
ever seen of how unprofessional F/A were on this flight. Who were pushing
children down to their seat and screaming at old people who actually were
in need of assistance. These F/A were straight out of a food, meal, catering course
of a prison, thumping trays on the tray table, at the same time saying
"SIR"???? I was surprised to see such shabby behavior; such
actions are bound to tarnish the already sagging image of this company,
which I feel is not bad. Just needs to get more involved and some really
good HR guys.

Meal type: veg
on the left and non-veg on the right of the tray, lunch.
Veg = paneer makhni & non-veg = chicken makhni (Cottage Cheese
or Chicken curry in a tomato/butter sauce), otherwise common to both was
hot steamed rice, kaali daal (black lentils), papadam, salad, sweet gulab
jamuns, butter, bread roll, mouth freshener. I think Indian food holds
well on airplanes, there is a sandwich selection available, but even the
visible foreigners were tucking into the spicy rice-curry combo.
Drink: Soft beverages, tea/coffee, water.
Comments: Air Sahara feeds their passengers as though
there is no tommorow. This was for a short flight, 1 hour block time,
but actual cruising was just about 40 minutes. Cabin crew has new uniforms.

of paneer and green peas in tomato gravy, rice and yellow dahl, all Indian
specialties. There was a salad that consisted of cucumbers, tomatoes,
an olive and a chili with no salad dressing. There was also a bun wrapped
in plastic with some “Amul” butter.
Drink: Water
Comments: Despite the bun being pre packaged, it was

Meal type: Afternoon snacks, 2 hour domestic flight on
a B-737/700 - I ordered both the veg and non-veg snacks to make a prettier
picture. We had upma (semolina salty halwa) and a potato chop/cutlet as
the common factors, with chicken tikkas on one side and paneer (cottage
cheese) tandoori for the veggies. Again, piping hot without tasting like
micro-waved rubber. Then there was the dahi-bhalla (true milk yoghurt
with a dumpling inside, spiced up with chillies and tamarind sauce) which
is best had cold, and it was. Ice-cream and coffee not shown. Fortune
cookie not shown.

curry, malai daal and jeera rice, water, tea/coffee (not shown), Baskin
Robbins ice-cream, fortune cookie (not shown), and those two small things
on the side are sweet/sour tamarind balls. Also had fresh raw mango juice
on arrival, mouth freshener, hot-cold towel service, and as much cola
as you want throughout. Plastic cutlery is now the law in India.
Drink: No alcohol on domestic flights in India.
Comments: "This is a new airline trying to win people
through a variety of methods, including food. Most domestic flights in
India serve a full meal if the flight is of more than 45-60 minutes duration.
The choices are usually veg (most popular, wait for it), non-veg usually
poultry, and the full range of pre-ordered specials. Photography is banned
at airports but photographs of airline food are not banned. As yet."
