Meal: snack
Kettle Classics salt and vinegar potato chips
Drink: Coke
Comments: The chips were better than I expected, but not very filling. In 1997 there was a full lunch served for coach on this route. Despite downgrading the meal, Alaska deserves credit for keeping its flight attendants looking classy with ties and skirts.

Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal: Lunch

Chicken Ceasar Salad
Roll and Butter
Mint Chocolate Square
Drink:
Ginger Ale
Premium Alaska drinking water (Not pictured)
Comments: This was my first time flying first and I have to say my experience was excellent. Chilled Premium Alaska Water was awaiting me right as I stepped into my seat - quite refreshing! The two options for lunch were either a ham and cheese sandwich, or what I opted for, a Chicken Ceasar Salad. The salad was excellent and the mint chocolate square was a perfect ending to the meal. Only down point was that I wasn't offered a second drink service like they offer in coach.

(SAN) + $50.00 FC Upgrade
Flight Duration: 2 HRS 49 MIN
Aircraft type & class: MD-80, First Class
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal: Lunch
To start with peanuts and a cocktail. Main entree was a chef salad, bread roll and a Varda chocolate mint.
Drink: Alaska True Water and a Taqurey Gin and Tonic.
Comment: A pastrami sandwich was the other option but by the time the FA got to our row the salad was all that remained. The meal was fresh, but portion a bit small. The FA was friendly, but I have had better service on Alaska. The plane was for some reason very unclean which did not help the ambiance.

Fruit plate and scone appetizer. Scrambled eggs, apple compote crepe, and Canadian bacon breakfast. Warmed nut snack cup.
Drink: Coffee with Baily's and Chardonney du jour
Comments: Aircraft was in flight for nearly an hour before the first beverage service arrived. Fruit was sweet and juicy, accompanied by a delicious cinnamon and butterscotch chip scone. The eggs were light and fluffy though slightly salty. The apple topping and filling on the crepes tasted straight out of a can. The bacon was good. The warmed nuts were very good as was the chardonney. Once service started, it was great.

Route: SEA-BOS, 18 Dec 2003
Ticket price: $0 (frq flyer)
Flight duration: 5 hours
Aircraft type & class: 737-700 First
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal: Breakfast
(061) The appetizer consisted of 2 slices of green melon, 3 slices of canteloupe, 2 slices of kiwi fruit and a raspberry scone. The fruit was fresh and sweet. The scone was real shortbread filled with a slightly gummy jam that exhibited an overcooked taste. The breakfast consisted of 3 quarter slices of stacked french toast with a very thin cream cheese filling; a unique and tasty combination. Served with a generous amount of maple syrup. A slice each of canadian bacon and keilbasa accompanied the dish. Delicious.
(062) The lunch consisted of nothing for my row. The attendant completely missed us! By the time we realized the situation, it was too late in the flight to continue and complete the meal service on time. It looked as though the tray contained a fruit, cheese, bread, and cracker assortment.
Drink: Decaf coffee with Baily's
Comments: The food was a 9 but I feel that the missed row during the meal service cuts the overall rating by 1/3.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 6
