Aircraft: 767
Meal: Breakfast - Cereal (special K, I thnk) with milk, fresh fruit (cantaloupe, strawberries, mango, kiwi), croissant with butter and honey (my choice).
Drink: coffee
Comments: After the ample dinner only a few hours before, I was barely able to finish this breakfast. They feed you well in Business on American transatlantic. Fruit was fresh. Meal was served about 45 earlier than it had to be, I thought...Could have waited a bit longer.

Flight duration: 6h 30m
Class: business
Aircraft: 767
Meal: Dinner - Marinated Cheese Antipasto (not pictured)...Smoked Salmon and Herb-marinated shrimp, choice of bread from breadbasket...Mixed green salad w/creamy caesar dressing...Herbed chicken breast with a Madeira demi-glace, potato cheeddar gratin, green peas with sauteed onions...Butterscotch sundae (vanilla ice cream), nuts and whipped cream
Drink: Chateau Chauvin Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
Comments: American B767 two class service to Paris (no first...Just economy and business). Really good dinner. The only item I wasn't so hot on was the cheese antipasto: Buffalo mozzarella balls and tiny pear tomatoes in olive oil and minimal herbs...Not too flavorful...But then again, I don't usually like that stuff, anyway. Got it instead of the warm mixed nuts. Great salad, including zucchini, peppers, and mushrooms. Everything else was very tasty, and I didn't leave anything on the plate.

Drink: Cran Apple with a Lime
Comments: For $4 this wasn't a bad meal. True this is an extensively long flight and if you elect not to purchase this box, you recieve nothing but a napkin to eat but this is 2006 and I'm flying American...not anyone better.

Aircraft: MD-80 - N437AA
Meal: Lunch - Turkey and swiss croissaint with a salad of lettuce and vinegrette. Cheese and crackers with lemon cookies on the side. Warm nuts to start (on tray).
Drink: Diet Coke
Comments: The sandwich is pretty tasteless meaning it needs way more than one pack of mustard. I don't really like the salad as a sidedish, but it's better than the eight red skinned potatoes American used to serve sandwiches with. A four hour flight should get more.

Meal: Continental Breakfast - Fruit plate with mango, honeydew and watermelon, biscuts and bagels.
Drink: Cran Apple and OJ
Comments: This is what we call an "enhanced service". Sure it's a short flight, but without cereal or yoghurt to go along with the fruit, the meal is an embaressment. At least there are still hot breads.

Meal: Lunch - Turkey Wrap or Chicken Salad Sandwich. A turkey wrap with corn and red bell pepers. Red grapes with shell pasta. Crackers with cheese and Oatmeal applesauce cookies.
Drink: Cran Apple with a Lime and Red Wine
Comments: I've learned from experiance, never order the chicken salad sandwich. So instead I had this bland turkey wrap stuffed with turkey, corn and peppers (who thought that up?). The pasta shells that came with it were good though and the crackers, cheese and cookies made for ok sides. I wish there'd been mustard or mayo or something to give the wrap some taste.

Meal: Snack - Mixed Nuts to Start (Seconds thanks to my seat mate not wanting his).
A choice of a turkey croissant or Pasta salad with chicken. The salad had bowtie pasta with chicken, capers, tomatoes, onions and a small lettuce and mozzerella cheese salad on the side which had vinegrette for it. The usual sides of Carrs crackers, Cheddar Cheese and Oatmeal Applesauce Cookies were present.
Drink: Dr. Pepper and Red Wine (What a combo!)
Comments: This is one of the better cold meals American has. It's quite tasty and filling and they don't skimp on the chicken. For a short flight that left at 3 PM, this was a satisfying meal.

Meal: Lunch - Chicken Pasta Salad, packaged cheese spread, crackers, packaged cookies. Hot nuts to accompany the drink of your choice. The other choice was a Turkey Croissant sandwich with similar accompaniments.
Drink: Chardonnay, water
Comments: The nuts were a 10/10 - served hot in a ceramic ramekin and very nice selection of nuts. The wine was a no-name grocery store brand California Chardonnay and was really average.
The salad was pretty tasteless, a small portion and really not a First Class meal even for a short mid-con flight. Meal was a 4 but 2 extra points for the very good nuts.

Appetizer: Smoked salmon and herb-marinated shrimp

Salad: Fresh seasonal greens with julienned zucchini, yellow bell peppers, button mushrooms and cherry tomatoes offered with creamy Caesar dressing or olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Entrees:
* A signature dish by Stephan Pyles--Cowboy Steak: Cowboy beef fillet featured with red chili onions and accompanied by corn bean ragout
* Lamb shank enhanced by an ale tomato sauce, offered with mushroom risotto, butternut squash and haricots verts (not pictured)
* Chicken Madeira, herb chicken accented by a Madeira demi-glace, served with potato cheddar gratin, eggplant confit and sauteed mixed vegetables
* Boursin lasagna, layered with roasted red pepper and pesto sauces, creamy fines herbes boursin cheese and spinach, topped with red pepper strips.
Drink:
Comments: Chicken was pretty good, steak was way overcooked but had potential if it was cooked properly. Small salad and appetizer, but it needs to fit on the same tray, and it's not so much that you're stuffed and can't fall asleep afterward.

* Goat cheese and red pepper cappelletti pasta bound in a light pesto sauce, garnished with toasted pine nuts and sun-dried tomatoes (not pictured)

Dessert: a scoop of mango sorbet

Comments: OK. Steak was nicely cooked medium-rare for a change. Appetizer was a bit of a joke, it's like they took some of the veggies off the salad, put them on a different plate and called it a separate course.

Drink: Diet Coke and Red Wine with the meal
Comments: As I remarked to the flight attendant "this is a pretty sorry meal for a 4 hour flight" to which she agreed. This is a perfectly acceptable meal for a two hour or less flight, but for a flight of 1,745 miles, I do not think it unreasonable to expect courses or at least something hot.

Drink: Dr. Pepper and Red Wine (What a combo!)
Comments: The hot nuts satisfy me everytime and this was a decent enough lunch. Its hard for airlines to screw up sandwiches so I'm happy to be served them, though this tired salad has been making the rounds on AA for far too long.

Drink: Diet Coke
Comments: This was not the highest quality meal, but chicken salad never is. The sandiwch was of a decent size for this length flight but the salad, no matter how imaginative, was terrible. The sides were decent and overall this was an improvement over some other "meals" AA tries.

or
- Turkey sandwich featuring turkey and cheese on wheat with the same salad. Both meals come with Lemon Cookies
Drink: Diet Coke and Red Wine with the meal
Comments: Blah. I'll say it again...blah. A half wrap or a half sandwich was a pretty lame attempt at a food service, thankfully now they at least come with a pickle. The tired salads have been making the rounds on American for too long now and these meals have been shrinking each month it seems.

Comments: So sad what the US industry has come to. While this is an acceptable meal for a 2 hour or so flight, this flight is a mid-continental one leaving during a dinner hour and this is what they come up with? A half wrap and a bag of crummy cookies.

Flight duration: 8h 45m
Class: economy
Aircraft: Boeing 767-300ER
Meal: Normal - Quite a good inflight service in Economy Class on American. There is always a choice of two entrees on international flights. I chose the chicken over the beef. The chicken came with carrot sticks and rice. The carrot sticks weren't great but the grilled chicken and the rice were good. An airline hot meal on a long haul flight is almost as delicious as a dinner at home.
Drink: Red Wine.
Comments: Good tasty wine, there is a choice between beer, red or white wine but it is at the passenger's charge. Non alcoholic beverages, however, are free of charge. There is always plenty to choose from on a long haul flight.

Light refreshment of freshly baked cookies, cheese plate, and chilled milk before landing.
Drink: orange juice
Comments: Printed menu, 2-class domestic brunch service... good to have full 1st services back. It really does make all the difference. Now if AA could only replace the gray leather seats. I remember the same style/stitching 17 years ago in 1988. AA needs a new livery to match their impressive service standard.

It would have been nice with some additional topping such as pepperoni or sausage or some thing. The grapes were cool, firm, and sweet. The Cookies were sweet and crisp.

Drink: Water & Ginger Ale
Comments: The diner was very good and tasty. Beef was hot and tender, salad fresh and crisp, roll was cool and a little dry, but good. The cake was yummy. The snack was a pretzel packet and soda. I was glad that the tray table folded in half which is a nice feature since normal tray tables can't usually fold down all the way with me. Previous flight I used my backpack as a lap tray. One nice thing about AA is that compared to my last flight to London on BA, is that AA has more legroom on the international economy than BA. Didn't take a picture of the cold breakfast/snack that they served about 90 min before landing. It was Juice, yogurt, and a croissant, and a package of raisans, nice pick me up snack for the sleep deprived.
