Flying from: Nice NCE to London LHR, 9 March 2003
Aircraft type & class: Airbus A320, Club Europe
Meal type: Lunch - Steak with pesto dressing on a salad bed
of lettuce
and grilled peppers and tomatoes with balsamic vinegar dressing.
Dessert was cold lemon tart and a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. All tasted
good but I had to wait a while for the drinks service so the steak was
luke warm by the time the drink appeared.
Drink: Young Red Bordeaux. Could have had more, but I think
I'd
already had quite enough that day!
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 7 for the taste, 8 for the presentation,
6 for the service.

Flying from: London LHR to Nice NCE8 March 2003
Aircraft type & class: Airbus A319, Club Europe
Meal type: Lunch - Chicken breast on salad bed. chicken still
had skin on and was cooked just right (skin was not too crispy). Salad was a
basic lettuce, tomato and onion mix with the usual balsamic vinegar dressing.
Dessert was a chocolate brownie kind of thing with cold custard and tasted pretty
good.
Drink: Two 187ml bottles of Piper Heidsick Champagne (NV) offered
right off the cart with lunch (no pre-lunch round). Sneaked in a third bottle
on request but crew seemed to be rather pre-occupied on this flight with other
things as the three passengers who hit the attendent button but were ignored.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8 for the taste, 8 for the presentation,
6 for the service.

Meal type: Lunch - Worcestershire Sauce flavoured potato snacks.
Steak on a bed of salad of tomato, feta cheese, olives and caesar dressing.
Dessert was a rich chocolate cake with cold custard.
Drink: Bloody Mary, Bordeaux Red, Baileys x 2
Comments: "The steak and salad were really very good,
better than expected. The alternative was chicken with a pesto dressing on the
same salad bed. Dessert was good too. Still no cheese on BA in Club Europe."

Flying from: London Gatwick LGW to Venice VCE, 1 March 2003
Flight duration: 2 hours scheduled, 4 hours actual
Aircraft type & class: 737, Club Europe
Meal type: Breakfast - Cooked English Breakfast with a sideplate
of melon and orange fruit slices.
Drink: Piper Heidsick Champagne (NV)
Comments: "The standard BA Club Europe breakfast tasted
very good despite its presentation in the tin foil. The flight was about 1.5
hours late taking off so I figured it was now a Brunch, and Champagne was in
order. We got delayed again in the air (fogged in at VCE), so I had ample chance
to quaff a total of three of the small Champagne bottles for a well-balanced
and nutritious start to the day."
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 9 for taste and drink, 6 for presentation
