Company: British Airways operated by CitiFlyer Express

Flying from: Glasgow (GLA) to London City (LCY), 14 August
2003
Ticket price: £300 return
Flight duration: 1h 20m
Aircraft type & class: BAe146. Seat had Club Europe head
rest on it,
ticket was in C Class, but I only got economy FF points.
Meal type: Dinner - Chicken salad with grated parmesan and
dressing,
bread roll and butter, chocolate.
Drink: Gordons gin & tonic
Comments: Food good despite apparent simplicity. Service was
good,
FA offered me two G&T's, although I only took one as I was driving.
Cabin cleanliness again was bad. 40% full.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8 overall, 8 for food and 8 for service

Meal type: Breakfast - English breakfast - bacon, sausage,
fried tomato, baked beans, scrambled egg, bread roll and butter.
Drink: Tea, apple juice
Comments: Food yummy despite appearances, service was snotty
and rude after an FA gave me orange juice after I had requested apple juice.
It seemed like the FA thought I was playing some sort of game. It was not exactly
anything for the FA to get upset about! Time to lighten up. Cabin cleanliness
was awful with coffee gunge caked into the tray table crevices. 25% full.

Flying from: JFK to LHR, 7 August 2003
Ticket Price: $4997.00 (Outbound Concorde, Inbound World Traveler
Plus (Premium Economy))
Flight Duration: 3:17
Aircraft Type and Class: BAe/Aerospatiale Concorde 102 Class
R (Supersonic Class)
Meal Type: Lunch - Per the menu - A selection of Canapés;
Appetizer - Capricchio of Pineapple with Summer Berries; Cold Entree - Poached
Loch Duart Salmon on a bed of Lentil and Potato Salad; Dessert - Poached Pear
Stuffed with Prunes.
Drink: A variety of wines along with Champagne and water.
Comments: Unfortunately, the thrill of flying Concorde overcame me and I started
in on the entree and dessert before taking my pictures. It appears that BA has
cut back some on Concorde service which is fine as the flight itself was the
main reason to taking this trip. All of the food was excellent and well prepared
but it wasn't all that much better than United's Business Class food to London.
The china and glasses were standard BA issue (Concorde specific items have become
collectable and my guess is that they had started to 'disappear') and due to
security issues, your silver is actually plastic. The meal service takes the
majority of the flight time to London. My traveling companion chose 'Medallions
of Beef with Black Truffle Sauce and Dauphinoise Potatoes Brocolini' which was
excellent as well.

Meal type: dinner - Beef on salad with roast potatoes (I think),
forest fruit cake, plus salad dressing, warm bread roll, butter.

Ticket price: €5520 (included in Concorde + Club World
flights)
Flight duration: 2h 10min
Aircraft type & class: B737-300 Euro Traveller (economy)
Meal type: dinner (more of a snack really) - Ham & cheese
sandwich (or cheese and tomato), fresh fruit, chocolate cake
Drink: water, orange juice; tea and coffee also available
Comments: I actually thought the sandwich (a sort of focaccia)
tasted quite good. The fruit was quite fresh and the cake was alright, maybe
a bit too heavy on the stomach. All in all I think BA’s All day Deli isn’t
half bad!

plastic) bottles with a choice
of either Chardonnay or Sauvigon
