Comments: There were only two passengers in First, and we had one flight attendant each! Canapés superb, as was the lobster. Personal bread basket was a nice touch with four different breads for me to pick at. Sadly the bread wasn't very fresh or warm. Beef was awful - too well done and on the tough side. I nearly changed it until I realised that an awful lot can be covered up by English mustard. Cheese was a good selection, so I had a good excuse to max out on the wines. The Château Filhot was the best wine I tried and went very well with the rhubarb crumble and custard. Service was good although a little stand-offish. They shut the bar up well over half an hour before landing. Gone are the days where you could still sip champagne as you touched down and taxied to the gate.

Route: YVR-LHR, 28 Aug 2003
Ticket price: Incl. taxes approx. CDN$1100.
Flight duration: nine hours
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 767
Business or leisure trip: Always working, always on vacation.....
Meal type: Dinner
Primarily dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets and happy-face potato croquettes.
Drink: Gave it up years ago.
Comments: Attempting to secure a low-carbohydrate meal I asked for a diabetic meal - so they gave me a kid's meal. By mistake?? Special meals are always fun because they bring them out first. This would not have been a good meal for a diabetic due to its glycemic aspects.

Ticket price: approx $700 return
Aircraft type & class: Economy
Meal type: 1)
- mushrooms (3 pieces), tomatoes (2), potato balls (3) and
asparagus (2) in bean sauce (taste like can beans). (dry, quite
tasteless.. speacial meals arrived a lot earlier than the other meals so
either cold beans with wine that came later, or taste of beans)
- apple strudel (frozen. has gluten, i had asked gluten free vegan)
- orange juice (tastes like any cheap orange juice)
- roll (see before, had asked gluten free vegan. plane left 1 hour later,
so i was hungry and ate it.)
- fruit juice (die plane fruit salads, die! they look always old, and
everything tastes like melon!).
- coffee
look and taste : 4,5
2)
- snack + drink. again those bad tasting and smelly worcester sauce
things, nad them!! so coke etc
3)
- 3 mini sandwiches (vegan but normal bread). tasted ok but i was very
sick after.

- apple juice + coffee

Ticket price: approx $700 return
Aircraft type & class: Economy
Meal type: 1 ) Snack. Worcester sauce tasting nuts or something - has been the same for a long time. I hate those, so I had only a white wine and coke instead.
2) meal.
-vegetarian pasta (overcooked, too much onion, i'm allergic to onion; but the pasta was hot. i wish it had more vegetables)
-salad with roasted peppers and asian ginger - sesam dressing (really good, and different salad. i liked also the dressing, i normally hate them)
- a cheere+berry pie slice
-cadbury's milk chocolate bar
-water + wine
--- pasta + bread: i had ordered vegan meal, and i normally don't eat wheat at all (not digesting it very well).
psta was overcooked.
plastic forks etc are really ugly
pie tasted mild, but positively.
look: 7
taste: 7 (not so great, but compared to most turist class long haul flights it was to be considered good.) note: wine added 1,5 points.
-chocolate would have been better dark
-cognac (0,5 more points); i wish they had baileys
(meanwhile: thirsty as a camel, i drink plenty of water)
3) breakfast
