Meal Type: Lunch
Contents: Ham and cheese on focaccio bread and strawberry
ice cream

I find on this route. Very appropriate for a short flight. But feel that
CX should offer another alternative for those who don't eat pork such
as vegetarians or Muslim.

Coments: Cathay Pacific used to be my favourite airline
but this is not the case anymore. Service quality dropped and it's not
comparable to competitors (like Singapore Airlines, JAL). Service at ticketing
at Cathay's Manila headquarters is ridiculously slow. The flight itself
was quite comfortable.

Comments: The salad leaves were really fresh. The dressing
was very nice. Metal knives again. The gravlax with honey mustard sauce
was good. They had the sauce in a hollowed out cucumber. Good presentation.
The main courses we had were very disappointing. They were very bland.
However, the rice was reasonable, not all hard and crusty. Thank goodness
for the kimchis and the chilli paste. Otherwise, the prawn and the chicken
dishes would be flat! The selection of cheeses was safe, nothing adventurous.
Points added for using Carr's Table Water crackers. I find them very good
for cheeses. Fruits were fresh and sweet. The cake was unpalatable! I
could not even force myself to finish it. Neither could my wife. It was
completely tasteless. I did not expect the 'fruits' in the cake to be
of the dried type.
Ratings: The salad, gravlax and the fruits were the only
good dishes. All the others were quite disappointing and so an overall
mark of 5. Cathay's food, meal, catering seems to be going downhill
