Ticket price:
Flight duration: 3h 00m
Class: first
Aircraft: 737-800
Meal: Dinner - Cheese Cannoli with tomato sauce
Cream of Mushroom Soup
Roll
Turtle cheesecake
Drink: red wine "rothschild" (but from chile I think) poor
quality
Comments: The cannenoli was the only main choice left in the 4th row
of 1st, the other unavailable choice being shrimp parmesan on a salad.
I think this was the better choice, as it was very filling and high quality,
some of the best cannoli I've had in fact. The mushroom soup was tasty
but there was dried soup on the outside of the terrine. The cheesecake
was surprisingly tasteless, it looked much better than it was.
This month's wine selection is terrible; I don't know how it got past
the "wine congress" or whatever they call it.

Meal: Snack Plate - 1 slice salami
1 slice turkey
ranch dressing
red grapes
slice of tomato
2 black olives
jacobs crackers
reallemon cookies
Drink: red wine, very undistinguished.
Comments: I expected lunch on this flight but I guess leaving after 1:00
PM this was unrealistic. The plate was very high quality, with surprisingly
spicy jalapeno jack chese, peppered salami and a slice of fresh turkey
breast. CO should offer a few more slices of meat on this plate and it
would be perfect.

Comments: Dinner: Beef was on the tough side and a bit dry. Sauce was

The brownie was good but the crumb topping fell all over the place when

Comments: a one tray affair. Since this mirrored the cup of soup and salmon
salad on am iah-bwi dinner flight a few months ago, it seems that continental
has pretty much standardized on the thick soup or stew and a sandwich

balls.

baby carrots, asparagus, potato wedges and black bean sauce
*vanilla ice cream with choice of toppings
Drink: scotch, delicato 2004 merlot, corovoiser vsop cognac
Comments: overall Continental provides an outstanding service for this
5 hour flight on basic domestic equipment. There are linens both for the
table and the tray, and the courses themselves are never trayed. Nice
touches included a nut mix full of brazil nuts, an excellent warm (never
cold) pretzel bread among the roll offerings. And they let the ice cream
soften before serving. It's as if Continental has figured out what the
usual problems and made an effort to avoid them.
Slight annoyances included:
* the substitution of a prawn for part of the lobster dish; "du barry
sauce" was thousand island dressing
* very fatty chicken with the skin left on

Meal: Lunch - Lasagna, Salad, Apple-Pie, Roll.
Drink: Water
Comments: Delicious lasagna, fresh sald and an almost home-mad-style warm
apple pie. Purser Greg was great, although untasted he deserves a 10 as
well! Sorry the pic is slightly out of focus.

Meal: Lunch - Salad with dressing.
Chicken Parmigan with vegtables and rice.
Apple dessert.
Roll & butter.
Drink: Diet Coke
Comments: Salad was eaten without dressing and was nice, fresh and chilled.
Meal was warm enough and the chicken tasted ok, not overcooked. Vegtables
just the right consistency and quite enjoyable. Didn't taste too much
like what it was supposed to be(Parmigan) but was edible none the less.
I have never liked apple desserts so didn't try this but my fianceé
enjoyed hers.
Roll was soft, but butter slightly too hard to spread easily. All in all
enjoyable meal and good service by the cabin crew. I like it when you
ask for a Diet Coke and you get the full can rather than a little glass
full.

Route: FLL - ewr, 15 Dec 2005
Ticket price: Elite upgrade (Northwest)
Flight duration: 3h 05m
Class: first
Aircraft: 737-700
Meal: Lunch - Started off with Wite Wine, the for lunch had choice of
Chicken Ceasar salad or Philly Cheese steak sandwich. What was deleived
was different, My salad was a Greek Salad with chicken and my seat mate's
sandwich was BBQ beef. With the Salad and sandwich a cup of VERY good
southwestern corn chowder was service. My meal was very good.
Drink: White wine then had coffee and Baily's
Comments: OK this was not a good flight here is why.
Inbound flight late from EWR by 10 minutes, As soon as the passenagers
got off the plane, they boarded us while the crew was cleaning up the
plane. Once on board we were informed that we are on a hold for 16 passenagers
coming in from a late cruise, so we waited for an hour and 15 minutes.
We were told my the captian that no one is going to miss thier connections.
Once everybody was on board, we took off, after about 30 minutes in the
air, the captian came on and told us that ATC (Air Traffic Control) has
slowed us down. Half way into the flight the lead FA came on and told
people who were going to make a connection that WE need to call Continental
to see if we are going to make our connection of not. Right, like I'm
going to use the airphones and sit on hold.. I told the FA that sn't my
job and that YOU guys need to call for us... THey did and were told we
will miss out connection and were rebooked. We arrived 10minute later,
I'm still LOST on why they couldn't hold our flight for 10 minutes when
we at in FLL for an huor and 15 minutes...
Now mind you, we just got off a cruise from the Caribbean, and we are
now in EWR where its 11 degree's, we are in shorts and short sleeve T-shirt.
Our new flight doesn't leave for PHX for 5 hrs... I went to the coustomer
service counters to see if we could get into the P-Club and the lady sitting
behind the counter was way too lazy to help, after sitting on my cell
phone for 48 minutes I called thier customer care # the agent was able
to get use into the P-club were is was warmer then the terminal itself.

Meal: Dinner - We had a choice of Lasagna or cheif salad. We both took
the Lasagna, it was served with now get this Beef Stew...
Start off with Warmed nutes
No dinner salad was offered at all
Main course
NO Dessert was offered at all
No after dinner drink service at all
Drink: Red Wine
Comments: VERY lazy crew for this 5hr and 05 minute flight we were in
row 2 on the right side of the plane, so we were in the first row. After
the LEAD FA helped with coach she sat down in the first class gallay and
did NOTHING by bitch and complain about her job. with the First class
FA. The First class FA disapeared after picking up all of the trays never
offered any coffee or anyting. After listening to the lead FA for an hour,
I told her that is was VERY unprofessional of her to sit in front of me
and complain like she was. I told her if she didn't like her job then
quit, its that simple. But just shut up... She did that for the next 2
hrs.
I'm suprised on the level of serivce that CO gives on thier domestic flights,
their International flights are great...
The flights from PHX-FLL I didn't take pics as the flight left PHX at
620am and I was half asleep...

hot kidney beans, summer squash, and stewed tomatoes.

Chicken thigh, sticky rice; side lettuce and a chocolate brownie
Rating: 0 / Zero / Nil / Zippo
Comments: It amazes me that Continental Airlines could have the nerve
to serve such garbage. The whole meal was un-edible. The chicken was mostly
chicken fat as it was not the breast but the thigh. The little meat on
top tasted of uncooked meat.
The rice was boiled and sticky and the terayaki sauce was vile.
The chocolate brownie was dry and disgusting. Even the roll was awful.
In the 50 years that I have flown transatlantic routes Continental beats
them all in serving food that is not fit for human consumption. Nothing
on the tray was edible. Will certainly avoid flying with them again.

Comments: After being served an un-edible dinner which was insulting and
unfit for human consumption, we were served our breakfast 45 minutes before

However it tasted OK and it was warmed.
Continental Airlines are stingy and are trying to save pennies at all
costs. Will avoid flying them again on the transatlantic routes.

Rating: 0 / Zero / Nil / Zippo
Comments: A meal that quite frankly was an insult it was so disgusting.
First of all the lunch was served at 10.30 am. Who eats lunch at 10.30
AM? Anyway calling this garbage, food, would be too much of a compliment.
The roast tasted of rubber. However the mashed potatoes were good. The
roll was stale. Even the salad dressing was repulsive and thick.
The cake tasted of nothing and the dough was stale.
This airline is poorly managed. They think that by saving $1 they will
reduce their losses. Instead they are giving themselves a bad reputation.
Even the earphones with clips for each ear are cheap and uncomfortable
to wear.
In the 50 years I have flown the transatlantic, Continental wins head
over heals for serving the most un-edible garbage to economy class passengers.

Comments: Really exceptional service provided by the
Continental crew, both on ground and in the air.
Cabin service was exemplary and I always believe the
tone is set by the purser. Sorry some pictures are a
little fuzzy, it was a new camera I bought that day.
Meal was pretty good and well paced. The veal was
tough though and I did not get a picture of the extra
green beans served. So skimpy, they looked lost in
the dish. Presentation of the main leaves much to be
desired, as you can see. The cheese and port, VERY
good as was the made to order ice cream sundae.
Breakfast good, but they ran out of sweet rolls by the
time they got to my seat on row 3. Fruit very fresh
and ripe and the omelet really tasted much better than
it looked.
