Dessert - Primitivo do Manduria, Accademia dei Racemi (red);
Baileys & Amaretto;
Heineken.
Comments: Smoked salmon appetizer was very good - a great mix of taste sensations. Salad was better than the usual airline attempts, primarily due to the Parmesan sprinkled over it. Lamb entree wasn't very exciting, proof that there's great lamb and there's boring lamb. This was the boring sort. Cheese was good because of the Blue which should be compulsorily served the Primitivo red dessert wine. It would be a waste not to serve the two without each other! Forget the Port with the blue, take the Italian stuff. The
Italian dessert wine also went OK with the ice cream. And yummy - they have both Baileys and Amaretto which must be sampled mixed on the rocks. Couldn't doze despite the imbibing so decided to take in some movies with a few Heinekens. Service was good but not exceptional.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8 for the taste, 8 for the presentation, 8 for the service, 10 for having both Baileys and Amaretto

Flying from Atlanta to Grand Cayman on May 9, 2003
Flight duration: 2h23
Aircraft: Boeing 737-800, First Class
Meal type: Lunch - Turkey salad with cranberries and ranch dressing, bread and brownie
Drink: White wine (never shown the bottle so did not know what or origin)
Comments: Come on Delta! This is First class? Although the salad was good (though not spectacular), this is an overall disappointment. The bite size, plastic wrapped brownie was a joke - something you put in a kid's lunch box. Delta's in-flight meal service is really going down the drain - regardless of class of service.

Flying from: Los Angeles LAX to Atlanta ATL, 1 May 2003
Flight Duration: 3hrs 45hrs
Aircraft type & class: B767-300, Business Elite
Meal type: Lunch - Cold chicken wrap, packet of blue tortilla chips, and a small square of pre-wrapped desert.
Comments: Delta's new first class offering - a cold meal that was the almost the same meal as in coach, except it was on a plate and not in a blue bag as in coach. A very poor first class meal, which incidentally was almost identical to the dinner meal I received for dinner in First Class from MCO to SLC (4hrs 10mins) the previous week.

Drink: California, Pinot Noir
Comments: "A truly awful meal........... they started with only 4 menu's for 24 people in Business so we all shared, they failed to take our order until they were serving and realized they had nothing for us, ........ the salad was tasteless and gritty the vinaigrette salty and weak. The steak had no taste at all, the potatoes cold and salty, the beans chewy and stringy, they omitted the advertised carrots.......... the whole meal a total disaster"

Flying from: San Jose del Cabo to Atlanta, 23 September 2002
Flight duration: 3 hours 23 minutes
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 737-800 Economy
Meal type: Dinner Bread roll, mushy small salad with greens and corn, "grilled" chicken breast in pepper sauce with white rice and green beans with corn. Cheesecake.
Drink: water and - out of desperation - vodka orange
Comments: "Oh Heavens. Even my partner can cook a better meal. The mushy roll was a perfect match for the soggy and uninspired salad. The chicken breast had seen better times, and probably accrued a lot of miles already before ending on my tray. The boiled white rice was good, forget the green peas. I only had the cheesecake. Good considering that I don't like it."
