Meal: This was a meal? - I flew on Delta's partner, AeroMexico, and was delighted
they provided a real meal. However, it seems Delta does not offer a meal except
for some chips and a soft drink.
Drink: Coca-Cola
Comments: The attendants were lovely and were very nice. However, I'm dissapointed
that such an airline offers virtually nothing.

beverages and snacks were offered every 15 minutes! Once again, plastic utensils

Route: Cincinnati - Frankfurt, 20 May 2006
Ticket price: n/a
Flight duration: 8h 20m
Class: business
Aircraft: B767
Meal: Dinner and Breakfast - Appetizer: Chile spiced Chickenbreast with poached
Shrimp and Crostini topped with Mozarella, Tomatoes and Peppers.
Starter: Roasted Vegetable Soup.
Main Course: Grilled Fillet of Beef with Shallot Balsamico Sauce, herb-roasted
new Potatoes, Carrots, Cauliflower and soy beans.
Cheese selection with grapes.
Dessert: Vanilla Ice Cream.
Breafast: Omelet with Parmesan, diced Tomatoes, fresh Parsley, roasted
Potatoe slices and chicken apple sausage. Fruits.
Drink: Stonehedge Merlot and Woodford Reserve Whiskey. Cold Milk for
Breakfast.
Comments: Not everything was delicious, but Service was again very good.
Appetizer was served to cold, but after waiting a while taste was good.
The soup was delicious, but only half of the amount I got on my flight
3 weeks earlier to the US. The Fillet was dry and stringy. If Delta is
not able to serve the steaks at least medium they should not offer them
in Business class. Only because of MONTOMERY INN BBQ SAUCE, which I bought
fortunately in a shop at CVG airport, made it possible to eat the steak(see
picture!!!). The BBQ sauce was a recommendation from Diane, a flight
attendant on my flight before from FLL to CVG. Veggies and Potatoes were
ok. There is something else Delta could make better - Cheese selection
in the past was much better than today and my favorite Malt Whisky -
Glenmorangie - was not on board.
Vanilla ice cream again delicious.
Breakfast: Omelet was hot and tastefully. I liked
also the chicken apple sausage. Interesting taste.
Rating only 6 because of the nearly uneatable fillet. Everything else
was very good to delicious.

Route: Cincinnati CVG - Paris CDG, 13 Dec 2005
Ticket price:
Flight duration: 8h 05m
Class: business
Aircraft: B777-200
Meal: Dinner and breakfast - Aperitif service: mixed warm nuts
Dinner:
appetizer of mixed roasted vegetables, mozzarella pearls and sundried
tomatoes;
winter squash and pear soup;
eggplant ravioli, complemented with grilled giant prawns; cheese, grapes
and crackers selection;
traditional Delta sundae made with Breyer's all natural vanilla ice-cream
with caramel topping and pirouline cookie.
Breakfast:
assortment of pastries;
fresh fruits;
scrambled eggs with cream cheese and Canadian bacon.
Drink: A good Italian red (can't remember the name) from a well stocked
onboard cellar, followed by a meditation inducing vintage Porto with the
dessert. Lemon tea with breakfast.
Comments: Dinner was served about one hour into the flight, after the
aperitif service (I had a ginger ale with the pleasant warm nuts), on
proper crockery, with metlar cutlery and good glassware, with the traditional
informal yet professional attitude from FAs which is typical of US carriers.
After the nice Mediterranean-style appetizer, dinner continued with the
winter squash and pear soup, which was very enjoyable and piping hot:
alternative dish would have been a very inspiring salad. This was followed
by a choice of mains from which I chose the eggplant ravioli dish, with
grilled giant prawns, which were delicious and perfectly cooked. A good
cheese selection with grapes and crackers followed, along with the standard
Delta sundae made with Breyer's all natural vanilla ice-cream with my
choice of topping (caramel) and a pirouline cookie. After that I barely
had a three hours nap before it was time for breakfast, which consisted
in a good assortment of pastries, fresh fruits, and very well done scrambled
eggs with cream cheese and Canadian bacon.
Definitely too much food (I didn't touch anything else for the rest of
the day), and of a very high quality too.
Great wine selection as well, and nice crew. Bravo Delta!

Baked Chicked, au gratin potatoes, green beans
Both entrees included garden salad with olive oil dressing, roll with

Drink: Merlot
Comments: Dinner was excellent! The presentation of the meal, the worst
I've ever seen. Paper table mats, paper napkins, plastic silverware (try
cutting a steak with plastic utinsils), and plastic wine cup. Tacky. Also,
the seats were configured very poorly, I hear that Delta is in the process
of re-configuring thier 767-400ER fleet, good! The video on demand system
didn't work, and they still had February's inflight video selection magazine
on the plane, so I am assuming it hadn't worked for some time. 10 For
the food, 1 for Delta, overall 5.

Comments: Once again Muslim food on Delta was just a regular vegetarian

Ticket price: 291 Euro
Flight duration: 8h 40m
Class: economy
Aircraft: Boeing 767-300 ER
Meal: Lunch and Snack prior Arrival -
1. Aperitif:
- Minute Maid orange juice (which tastes always good!!)
- Peanuts. Notice the peanuts bag.....the manufacturer was a Russian company!!
Russian peanuts on a flight operated by an American airline!! Modern times!!:-))
2.Lunch:
- Seasonal Garden Greens with Cucumber Slices and julienned Carrots, offered
with Vinaigrette Dressing.
- Breast of Chicken enhanced by Herb Sauce, served with Carrot Batons
(whatever that is!:-)), Green Beans and roasted Potatoes.
- Bread and Butter.
- Cheddar Cheese and Crackers.
- Black Forest Cake (Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte is the German name!:-))
for dessert.
- Surprisingly good Coffee for an American airline!!:-))
3. Snack
- Vegetarian Pizza topped with Mozzarella Cheese, Eggplant, Zucchini and
Peppers.
- Cookie with caramel filling.
Drink: Orange Juice since you have to pay for those small wine bottles
and the beer cans!!!
Comments: To see the Russian peanuts on board of an American airline flight
was really funny for me!:-)) I had the very good Minute Maid orange juice.
Usually I drink wine to survive 8 hours in coach sleepy but Delta wants
5 USD!!!! for a small wine bottle or a small can of beer which is totally
unacceptable!! Thanks good I had some beers in the Air France lounge in
Berlin prior to departure!:-))
The lunch was okay. The chicken looked like chicken and tasted like chicken
(which is not always the case!!)......would have tasted better though
with wine!!:-)) The potatoes were a bit oily but within the limits. The
little roll was dry and tasted old, probably because it was packed. The
black forrest cake was much better than expected!! Not as sweet as the
Americans serve cake usually. As already mentioned...the coffee was strong
and black....good job!!:-))
The pizza as pre-arrival snack was very nice and tasted good....of course
with wine, it would have been better!!:-)) Very good caramel cookie.
Overall.....pretty much standard food for a flight in coach, especially
considering the low ticket price. If you want more, fly Bizz Class!! Delta
(and all the other American airlines!!) nevertheless have to think about
their wine and beer policy!!! 5 USD for a small bottle of wine or a small
can of beer is usury!!!
The service of the cabin crew was standard. You cannot expect much anyway
when the average age of the cabin crew is 55....at least!!! Not to mention
that some of them were heavily overweighted!!

flights attendants and passengers (sort of like MRE's). After finishing
the meal, empty wrappers and napkins can be reinserted into the overall
packaging for better handling. The small meal was countered by the pleasant
flight attendants who worked the flight that day.
Cons: Delta's coach meal is mediocre in comparison to its Business Elite
meals serviced in first class. For coach passengers, a small meal package
and beverage service is not enough for a 4.5 hour international flight.

and welcoming and did countless rounds refilling drinks. A pleasant experience

Meal: Breakfast - Fruit plate with grapes, melon, and pineapple. Roll
with strawberry jam and cream cheese. Fried red potatoes, bacon, and omelete/quiche.
Drink: Decaf coffee with Baily's
Comments: Truly understated fare that could have easily been passed off
as a mediocre coach meal. I was sorely disappointed with the food and
presentation quality in first class. The fruit and fried red potatoes
were good but the egg omelete was nearly tasteless. Pre-landing packaged
snacks were offered from a basket. Yawn. Top it off with plastic "silverware"
and a paper tray cover and you know Delta is in serious financial trouble.
The airline actually declared bankruptcy while this flight was airborne.
I think this may be my last Delta trip in full-fare first class.

Comments: This was the snack for this late night flight. I guess Delta

happy with this offering for such a short flight. Delta has upgraded their
snack service. I like the change. They use to only offer a beverage for
this route. Nice Change. Great service from the F/A's.

Comments: The meal was OK for Delta's first class snack service. The sandwich

The smoked cheese and crackers are very addicting so beware. Sorry to

a package containing cheese and crackers, raisins, and Oreo cookies as
its first service. A second service (not shown) consisted of a choice

Drink: Cola (not shown)
Comments: There were two beverage services offered between Casper and
Salt Lake City as well as between Salt Lake City and Washington Dulles.
The flight time between Salt Lake City and Washington Dulles was just
short of what would have qualified for a meal tray; therefore there was
a snack pack and then a basket of assorted snacks. I bought a sandwich
at the Salt Lake City airport prior to boarding because the gate agents
had warned passengers that nothing substantial would be served during
the flight.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 4 , the snacks themselves were perfectly fine
for a short flight, but they were totally inadequate for this longer flight
which departed at a normal dinner hour (5 pm).
