Class: one class only
Aircraft: Airbus 319
Meal: Snack - - American Sandwich with bacon, Bounty (Pic 1)

Drink: Sparkling Mineral Water, Coffee
Comments: For 6 Euros I bought the "Happy Snack" including a sandwich, softdrink and a chocolate bar. My colleague bought the "Happy Café" including a croissant, softdrink and a chocolate bar. For may oinion both offers are good value for money. Unfortunately the coffee was really, really bad!!

Route: Leipzig - Cologne, 28 Feb 2006
Ticket price: 115 €
Flight duration: 0h 50m
Class: one class only
Aircraft: A 319
Meal: Snack - Bacon-Lettuce-Tomato Sandwich, Candy Bar
Drink: Beer (Gaffel Koelsch)
Comments: @5 € this Happy Snack combo is reasonably priced (on Ryanair s.th. similar would have set me back 10 € or more) and quite nice. Served by a very charming flight attendant.
All in all, this trip was pleasant and comfortable. Seats were a little cramped though does not matter on such a short hop, but I would dread to fly all the way to Istanbul ;-)
Germanwings is one of the better low-cost carriers coming in a close 3rd place behind Air Berlin and hlx on my personal shortlist.

Route: CGN, Köln-Bonn, Germany - ZRH, Züri, Switzerland, 19 Dec 2005
Ticket price: 49 Euro, return, taxes included
Flight duration: 1h 05m
Class: one class only
Aircraft: Airbus A319, D-AKNG
Meal: snack - Salted nuts (quite a large bag)
Drink: Prosecco (Josello, Italy, 2dl)
The flying time tonight was only 48 minutes, the crew had to hurry to complete the service. I paid 4 Euro for the Prosecco and 1 Euro for the large bag of salted nuts, which is ok. I give one more point as they removed these ugly add stickers from the tables (see picture 018). I would appreciate smaller glasses for wine and prosecco - may I have to come down to earth - this is a low fare airline - but a very nice one :-)

Meal: Christmas breakfast - German "Lebkuchen". Germanwings has a christmas promotion during December. They even had two different types of Lebkuchen.
Drink: Cappuccino
The deal was "Lebkuchen" and a hot beverage for 3 Euro, a very good deal. Friendly crew and good service. Germanwings is definitely one of the better low fare airlines.

Route: Köln-Bonn CGN, Germany to Züri ZRH, Switzerland, 24 Jun 2005
Ticket price: CHF 178 (return, taxes included, arround 115 Euro)
Flight duration: 1h05 (18:50 19:55h)
Aircraft type & class: Airbus A319, D-AILT, economy single class
Business or leisure trip: leisure
Meal type: Dinner
Contents of the meal: Chewing-gum while boarding, than an American sandwich with bacon and tomatoes
Drink: Kölsch (beer from Cologne)
Comments: Another load of advertisement... Incredible. So, for the meal I made an ad-free picture, quite simple: Cover the ad on the tray with the menu, fold arround the napkin and it’s done! This meal is called “Happy Snack” and consist of a sandwich or a baguette, one drink (except wine and prosecco) and one chocolate bar, for 5 Euro. This snack definitely worth the money, the sandwich was fresh and good (however the composition could be in english as well) and the beer was very nice as well. I think it’s the first time I get a real bottle instead of a can. Note the orange line on the seat in front of me, shows clearly that this is a Lufthansa plane. D-AILT is on a short-term lease to 4U and will return to LH in a few month. In the meantime
4U ordered 18 new A319 to have the needed capacity again.

Business or leisure trip: leisure
Meal type: breakfast
Contents of the meal: One croissant
Drink: Cappuccino
Comments: This is called “Happy Café”, one hot beverage and one croissant or muffin for 4 Euro, quite expensif. If you find a space, germanwings could use for advertisement, I’m sure they would be happy if they tell them :-) (The sugar bag is for me)

Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8 for the coke and the friendly crew, of course.

Comments: I paid 29 Euros for the ticket. On Germanwings flights you have to pay for food and drinks. They offer real nice things in their menu,
especially the combos are good value for money. I prefered the so called "Happy snack" which includes a cheese or ham sandwich/Baguette, a softdrink or beer and a chocolate bar(Bounty, Kit Kat or Snickers)

Flying from: Cologne to Lisbon, 25 Sep 2003
Ticket price: € 125,00 (Return)
Flight duration: 2:35
Aircraft type & class: Airbus 320, economy
Meal type: Snack. Low cost airline. You have to buy drinks & snacks. The picture shows the so called "happy snack", which consists of some filled baguette, softdrink and a chocolate bar. Charge: € 5,00
They called it "Jogging Baguette". Filled Baguette with turkey salami, butter, lettuce, tomatoe and mayonaise. The taste and freshness was good. Meals are prepaired by Lufthansa LSG. Twix chocolate bar, formally known as Raider...
Drink: Gerolsteiner sparkling water 0,5 l - Dom Kölsch 0,33 l (local beer speciality from cologne)
Comments: Good and friendly stuff. I saw that they offered free drinks and snacks to families with children. But I don't know if that is a standard policy.

Ticket price: I won the ticket in the internet!!!
Flight duration: 1 hour 5 minutes
Aircraft type & class: Airbus A 319-111, D-AKNJ
Meal type: Refreshments for sale - Prosecco (i.e. Champaign for poor people like me...) and Pringels chips
Comments: I paid 6 Euros for this (4 for the prosecco, 2 for the chips) a fair price. It was served on a lufthansa napkin :-( (What a shame, like the quality of my picture, the flash wasn‘t working, sorry folks) A wide range of drinks and snacks are loaded on the 4U flights, it‘s up to
every passenger if he likes something or not.

Flying from: CGN/CDG to CDG/CGN, 18 June 2003 and 21 June 2003
Ticket price: 68.- € (29.- € + 49.- €)
flight duration: 40 min. both ways
Aircraft type & class: A320-200 D-AIPC/AIPD, Y (one class)
Meal type: Snack ("Happy Snack") - Farmer's Baguette with Gouda cheese (tomato, egg, lettuce), Snickers chocolate bar
Drink: 0.5 l "Apfelsaftschorle" Apple juice/soda mix
Comments: Basic but excellent combo, tasty baguette. I actually prefer such a good snack over an unedible free hot meal on longer flights. So called "Happy Snack" consists of a baguette, a soft drink and a chocolate bar (all of your choice) and cost 5.- €. A reasonable price for a quality combo IMO.
