Route: Osaka Kansai to Honolulu, 10 Nov 2003
Flight Duration: 8hr5 minutes
Class: Economy class on B747-200.
Meal type: Dinner
Japanese option comprising: an obento box with japanese delicacies, a
crabmeat cake, japanese "soba" noodles, a red bean based sweet,
plus a hot meal of "tori kijiyaki don" (chicken teriyaki) with
steamed rice and eggs/vegetables.
Drink: Fleur de Lynch red bordeaux wine (JAL's branded
red wine) out of a selection of soft drinks/beers/wines.
Comments: Very nice dinner served two hours after departure
due to turbulence. The tray set-up was extremely elegant and pleasant
to look at. Food was tasty and plentiful: the red wine was pleasant as
well. It came with a "fun" menu card, detailing Reso'cha characters.
European and American airlines: please take note on how Japanese carriers
are still pampering their passengers, even in economy, despite the harsh
economic climate.

Flight Duration: 8hr5 minutes
Class: Economy class on B747-200.
Meal type: Aperitif
Japanese otsumami.
Drink: Reso'cha Breeze out of a selection of soft drinks/juices/liqueurs.
Comments: Very nice aperitif service. The Reso'cha Breeze
is one of JAL's signature drinks, made of SkyTime kiwi juice and Remy
Red. It tasted absolutely delicious. Otsumami were branded as Reso'cha
(this is the leisure travel brand of JAL on Hawaii flights): a welcome
change to boring peanuts and pretzels.
