Route: Vienna VIE - Belgrade BEG, 7 Feb 2006
Ticket price: 500 EUR return
Flight duration: 1h 10m
Class: economy
Aircraft: ATR 72-500
Meal: Dinner - Ham and cheese sandwich, peanuts and chocolate
Drink: Tea and water
Comments: JAT is the yugoslavian carrier. The flight was so expensive.
Unfortunately there are no direct flight between Budapest and Belgrade
so I had to go to Vienna by car and then take them to Belgrade. Because
of my trip didn't include a saturday night the ticket was very expensive
(500 EUR return), for this price I can fly to BUDAPEST-NEW YORK and back.
When I saw the plane I thought it would be better to go by car, its shape
and condition was not so convincing. The interior was used and still smelled
of smoke. The flight attendants was in their mid 40's with big hair and
an amount of make-up which could be enough for 10 other women too. The
ourney was pleasant however and they were nice in an old fashioned way.
It felt like I went back in time for the 80's.

Route: from Rome (FCO) to Belgrade, Serbia (BEG), 22
July 2003
Ticket price: part of a tour package
Flight duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Class: Economy
Business or leisure trip?: Leisure
Meal type: Lunch - Salami, smoked ham, cheese, cucumber,
piece of pepper, piece of tomato, bread roll, olive and walnut cake.
Comments: It was pretty good. The smoked ham was delish. I think the cheese
was Edam and it was also very yummy. There could have been more veggies,
perhaps more than a sliver of pepper or a chunk of tomato. My biggest
complaint was that it was all very dry. Perhaps some butter for the bread,
or some mustard or cream cheese. The walnut cake was typical Serbian fare,
it was gross and I didn't eat it. All in all the meal was surprisingly
good.
