Meal of the week - 9 July 2006

Jetstar Asia 018-019
Photo taken by: Daniel Erler
Route: HKG - SIN, 14 Apr 2006
Ticket price: 50€
Flight duration: 3h 30m
Class: economy
Aircraft: Airbus A320-200 operated by Valuair
Meal: Lunch - Noodles with tomato sauce
Chicken
Drink: Pepsi
Comments: Jetstar Asia is a LCC, so you have to buy your food. The meal cost 8 SGD, about 4 Euros, and it's worth it's price. A large portion and it tastes not like LCC-food. The quality is as good as Etihad or Air Nostrum.

Route: Bangkok - Singapore, 1 Apr 2006
Ticket price: 1500.00THB
Flight duration: 2h 00m
Class: one class only
Aircraft: Airbus A320
Meal: Snack - Chicken Foccacia
Drink: Pepsi
Comments: Not as good as the last one I had - this one the bread wasn't anywhere near as fresh, and the filling made it go quite soggy. Still for a few dollars, not a bad snack. The service of the Jetstar Asia staff is excellent though - very nice crews.

Ticket price: 1500.00THB
Flight duration: 2h 00m
Class: one class only
Aircraft: Airbus A320
Meal: Purchased Snack - Chicken Foccacia
Drink: Pepsi
Comments: I purchased this foccacia as the baguettes were all finished. I'm not a huge foccacia fan, but honestly, this was the BEST foccacia I have ever had anywhere - even in Italy and in Italian Cafes etc. It was warm, tasty, the bread was really fresh and the presentation on the banana leaf was pretty. Can't wait to have another one next week! Great to hear the voices of Aussie pilots on Jetstar Asia - Asian pilots scare me!

Route: HongKong-Singapore, 03 May 2005
Ticket price: SGD298.00
Flight duration: 3hrs+
Aircraft type & class: Economy
Business or leisure trip: Leisure Trip
Meal type: Dinner
Contents of the meal: Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice - Rice with Egg and Green Beans), Satay (Chicken with Spicy Peanut Sauce), Sunny Side Up Egg, Deep Fried White Fish
Drink: none
Comments: The nasi goreng and the satay were excellent! The batter of the white fish has turned soggy, but still tasted great. The sunny side up egg was slightly hard and tasted like rubber. On the whole, it was a pleasant meal because the satay and the nasi goreng were really REALLY good, which didnt taste like airline fair, much less BUDGET airline food...
