Route: AKL - SCL, 15 Feb 2006
Ticket price: n/a
Flight duration: 10h 30m
Class: first
Aircraft: A340
Meal: Dinner - For an appetizer, I had the smoked salmon with roasted zucchini and stewed artichokes. This was followed by fresh celery soup. For main I had grilled fillet of beef. By dessert time I was so enjoying the food that I forgot to photograph anything further, so you won’t see the pannacotta topped with mixed berries nor the cheese platter and chocolates.

For breakfast, I had fresh orange juice, selection of seasonal fruit, and the omelette followed by croissant and coffee.
Drink:
Comments: This is the premium sector for Lan Chile with all stops being pulled out to impress. Unfortunately, my premonition of Lan Chile’s tendency to clumsiness was quickly realised when the FA manage to drop the champagne before take off, so none was served on this sector, and that was a serious omission. It sounded like one bottle was dropped so Lan Chile are cheap if they think one bottle would be enough for 5 1st class passengers on a 11 hour flight. The food on the other hand along with the Chilean wines was excellent (see pictures).

Aircraft: A-320 - CC-COD
Meal: Breakfast - Cheese omelet with potatoes, assorted fruit containing grapes, an apple slice and an orange, two rolls with butter and jam.
Drink: Diet Coke and Coffee
Comments: This is how things once were in the US, a decent sized meal on a flight of medium length. The meal was relatively tasty, the only thing I took issue with was the lack of the choice, it was this omelet or nothing.
