Flight duration: 3 1/2 h
Aircraft type & class: B744, Y
Meal type: Dinner - Pasta with turkey or chicken, salad, dessert and bun
Drink: sprite, tomatoe juice
Comments: This meal was surprising good for lufthansa especialy since this was a short 3+h flight offering a choice between pasta or beef. Unfortunatly the dessert was just disguisting. A big surprise for me was the metal! cutlery that i also got on the flight to israel but LH flight to NYC had plastc cutlery.

Flying from: Delhi (DEL) to Frankfurt (FRA), 10 June 2003
Flight duration: 8h 10min
Aircraft type & class: B747-400, business class
Meal type: breakfast - Seasonal fresh Fruit, Yoghurt, Bread, Rolls, Croissants and Muffin served with Cream Cheese, Butter and
Preserves * Entree - Baked Egg with spicy Chicken Sausage offered with a Spinach Timbale and Potatoes with Onions
Drink: Coffee (fresh brewed or decaf), tea, juices.
Comments: A rich breakfast was served before landing. The skillfully cut fruit in the first picture is a fresh mango, and I do love mangos..! Alternatively, a 'last minute breakfast' consisting of coffee or tea, orange juice and croissants was offered for those passengers who wanted to sleep a bit longer.

Flying from: Delhi (DEL) to Frankfurt (FRA), 10 June 2003
Flight duration: 8h 10min
Aircraft type & class: B747-400, business class
Meal type: night snack - Cucumbers with toasted Pine Nuts, Roll and Butter * Entree - Roasted Leg of Lamb with Coriander Jus, served with Tomatoes in Barbecue Sauce, Beans and Potatoes au Gratin * Dessert - Fruit Praline Custard
Drink: 2000 Château Tour Prignac Médoc Cru Bourgeois, Gerolsteiner carbonated mineral water
Comments: The scheduled time of departure was 2:25am, so this meal was served around 3 in the morning. Lufthansa calls it a 'night snack', but it is actually a full meal. What I really missed here was some kind of dressing for the cucumbers. Cucumbers do not really have much of a flavor, and after squeezing some lime juice over them, it wasn't much better, except for the fact it was all sour now. On the other hand, the lamb was excellent. The meat was very tender and the seasoning just right.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8 (+1 for the roasted leg of lamb, -1 for the cucumbers)

Meal type: dinner - Zucchini Salad with Feta Cheese, Rolls and Butter * Entree - Tortelli and Buffalo Mozzarella served with creamy Pesto, roasted Pine Nuts and Parmesan * Dessert - Dark Chocolate Mousse Tart
Drink: All kinds of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages were available. I chose plain apple juice.
Comments: This hot dinner was served shortly before landing. The pasta was very good and the delicious chocolate mousse tart deserves a special recommendation. Alternatively, an Indian style vegetarian dinner was available on request.

Aircraft type & class: B747-400, business class
Meal type: lunch - Appetizer - Sautéed Breast of Corn-fed Chicken with Sesame Marinade and
Pineapple Mango Chutney, Salad with Basil Olive Oil Dressing, Bread, Rolls, and Butter * Entree - Fillet of Red Mullet accompanied by Tomato Compote and Olive Tapenade * Cheese and Dessert - Smoked Cheese, Allgäu Hard Cheese and Blue Cheese, served with Cape Gooseberry Chum-Chum Sandwich (Indian style dessert) * Coffee and Chocolates
Drink: A wide selection of softdrinks, juices, beer, wine and spirits. I had a glass of Champagne Duval Leroy Fleur de Champagne Brut as aperitif, carbonated mineral water and a 2001 Torculum Südtiroler Chardonnay with the
meal, a 2000 Château Tour Prignac Médoc Cru Bourgeois with the cheese, and finally some Otard VSOP with the Coffee.
Comments: A very nice meal, nothing to complain about. The appetizer was a very good start and the fish just as good. The Italian Chardonnay was very good, too. Fresh and fruity, but still elegant and well balanced. Exactly the sort of white wine I love with a good meal. The friendly cabin crew also contributed to this good overall impression.
