Ticket Price: Free! with United Airlines Mileage Plus
Duration: 7 hours 30 minutes
Aircraft Type: Airbus 320 Business Class
Meal Type: Dinner (Dessert)
Contents - Brie, Blue and Herbed Goat Cheese
Drink - Port Wine
Comments: This was on Lufthansa "All Business Class" service operated by Privatair. Cheese is always the "Euro" way to end a meal. My other choice was a chocolate brownie or a fruit plate. Neither seemed too interesting. Can I have another apricot?
Rating: 6 (only because the Port Wine was great)

Route: ATL - FRA, 28 Oct 2003
Ticket price: Approx GBP. 300
Flight duration: ATL - FRA, approx 8 hrs
Aircraft type & class: A340-300, Business Class (Y Class ticket but used LH Upgrade vouchers)
Business or leisure trip?: Leisure
Meal type: Dinner
Pre dinner drink = Gin & Tonic, Almonds
Hors d'oeuvre= Snow Crab and Potato Salad, Salad with Asian Miso Dressing,
Entree = Beef tenderloin roulades with porcini mushrooms. Pearl barley risotto + vegetables.
Dessert = Cheese (Brie, Blue & herb cheese) + Brownie, Chocolates + cognac
Drink: Gin & Tonic, Riesling Spatlese trocken, Spanish red wine, Otard VSOP Cognac, Coffee
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 10 for volume (I was very full after the meal), 8 for food. Good starter, fresh salad leaves with lovely miso dressing. Main course was good too served on nice LH round china. Only disappointment was the brownie which was a bit heavy. Cognac and chocolates were a nice way to round off the meal. I slept through until the next meal service after this meal. (In fact, I was still full the next day!) During the meal I was watching the movie Johnny English on my personal TV and I laughed out really loud several times. (I just couldn't help it!) One of the cabin attendents looked at me in a funny way - she probably thought I was crazy!

Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 10 for volume (Again, I was very full after the meal. LH offer loads of extra bread - it's a cheap way of getting the passengers full up and ensures that you are fully satisfied after their meals), 7 for food because I have had better Business class breakfast meals. e.g. Lauda Air

Aircraft type & class: Boeing 737-300, Economy class
Meal type: Breakfast
Contents of the meal: Standard ham and smoked "Parma" type, ementhal & camembert cheese, grapes, yoghurt, jam, breadroll.
Comments: WOW. That's my reaction after hundreds of sandwiches, which I got on my many last flights on Lufthansa (I even stopped photographing them). Is it because LOT wll join Star Alliance in 2 weeks and Lufthansa want to adjust their food, meal, catering to the new member's level??? No matter what the reason is - this onboard breakfast was really delicious, especially with the warm
breadroll.

Flying from: Frankfurt to Istanbul, 26 Sep 2003
Ticket price: N/A
Flight duration: 2 1/2 hours
Aircraft type & class: A319, Y
Meal type: Breakfast - The choices were omelette or quiche according to the FA's. This was "quiche," although it was actually a poached egg w/hollandaise sauce, potato casserole, and vegetables. It was more like a Spanish Tortilla I thought. We also received a roll and rye bread with jam and butter, cheese, cold turkey, and grapes, and a yogurt. Also, a REAL METAL KNIFE!
Drink: Diet Coke and tea
Comments: We flew roundtrip from IAD to IST via FRA and this was the only interesting meal.
