Comments: After the poor cheese experience on the flight to HAM, I decided for the safer ham option. When I took a quick look inside the sandwich bag, I thought that the roll looked rather like an animal's mouth (maybe camel or giraffe?!) with a pinkish tongue hanging out of it! The roll was light and tasted good.

On to the beverages... unfotunately, the 'Sekt' sparking wine was not too great... it was dry but didn't have much of a pleasant taste to it. The only word that I can think of to describe it was 'rubbery'.

One thing that did make me feel a bit better about the insipid wine was the lovely - and unusual - shadow/reflection on my tray table from the sun shining through the window. I only realised it when I gathered up all my trash after finishing the sandwich and coffee. I took a picture because, from an 'artistic' point of view, I hadn't seen such a nice shadow before.

Again, the consistent LH coffee was good. I did have a slight problem with an exploding cream carton but thankfully aimed it at the wall when I opened it. I hope the LHR cleaning staff cleaned the cabin wall to the left of seat 1A because there were a few spots of cream on it!

One thing that I have only just realised after eating the LH sandwiches for some years now is the design of the bag. I couldn't believe the nice retro Lufthansa Lockheed Constellation design on the package!!! Well done Lufthansa! Either my eyes must have been closed on all previous occasions or LH have never had any designs on their sandwich bags.

Comments: One of the few German expressions that I know is "Shinken oder Käse" (ham or cheese). I've heard it so many times and on this flight it was no exception. I went for the cheese option and realised what a poor choice I'd made when the guy across the aisle received a ham sandwich that much almost twice as big as mine. I was even more disappointed when I opened the sandwich up because it looked totally unappetising. Not to worry, I wasn't that hungry thanks to some bran flakes in the lounge about 40 minutes earlier. Apart from this, I don't really have much to say about the flight except that the LH coffee was again of a gtood standard and the apple juice, was... well...., apple juice.
