Route: Luxembourg to Frankfurt, 4 July 2004
Flight Duration: 40min
Class: Economy class on Fokker 50.
Meal type: Refreshment
Drink: Orange juice out of a selection of orange juice
or water.
Comments: On the run to Frankfurt Luxair has been cutting
food, meal, catering expenses. In economy you can just choose between oj or water,
while business passengers can get a sandwich, chocolates and a good assortment
of drinks.
Flight lenght, though, is quite short, so it is not much of a problem.

Route: Olbia to Luxembourg, 4 Jul 2004
Flight Duration: 1hr45min
Class: Economy class on B737-500.
Meal type: Snack
A small size tray with two canapes (cheese and ham), a cherry tomato,
a slice of pie filled with smoked salmon and cole slaw, a small apple
custard crumble cake, two chocolate pills.
Drink: Coca Cola out of a selection of soft cold/hot
drinks.
Comments: A very nice light meal served on this mid morning
lightly loaded flight. Luxair is still using metal cutlery (including
a knife) and their service is still classy even in economy. The candies
at the beginning and at the end of the flight and the chocolate pills
were very nice touches too.

Meal type: lunch - Tortellini with cheese and tomato
sauce, half tomato
filled with olives and dressing, bread roll with choice of butter or cheese,

Comments: Very friendly and helpful FAs. The meal was
really tasty.
However, orange juice was the only soft drink available for this flight,
which was rather disappointing.

Flying from: Rome to: Luxembourg, 15 May 2003
Flight Duration: 1hr 50
Class: Business class on EMB145 jet.
Meal type: Snack/Canapès - A small size tray featuring
a selection of four canapès (including one fresh asparagus in gelée,
one tarama roll, one patè with quail egg, one with goat's cheese
and tomato) and a dessert (caramel coated blancmangè on a sponge
cake). Later on a small box with two chocolates was kindly handed out
by the F/A.
Drink: Orange juice and lemon tea out of a selection
of everything you wanted.
Comments: Classy service on Luxair. The meal came on
a small tray but on fine Royal Doulton china (including a china napkin
holder) and real cutlery. The flight was scheduled too late for breakfast
and too early for lunch, so canapès were perfectly suitable for
the flight. Canapès were very fresh and tasty: the dessert was
a little bit too sweet. The only F/A onboard provided a great service
to the few passengers aboard (only 7 on this day).

Flying from: Luxembourg to Turin, 15 May 2003
Flight Duration: 1hr 10
Class: Business class on EMB145 jet.
Meal type: Snack/Canapès - A small size tray featuring
a selection of four canapès (including one delicious mini sandwich
with Parma ham and sundried tomato, one tarama roll, one salmon with quail
egg, one with goat's cheese and tomato) and a dessert (raspberry parfait
with an apricot coulis). Later on a small box with two chocolates was
kindly handed out by the F/A.
Drink: Crèmant d'Alsace (champagne) and lemon
tea out of a selection of everything you wanted.
Comments: Really classy service on Luxair. The meal came
on a small tray but on fine Royal Doulton china (including a china napkin
holder) and real cutlery. Canapès were perfect for a mid afternoon
flight like this. Canapès were very fresh and tasty, albeit very
similar to those served on the morning flight I had that same day: the
dessert was delicious. Overall a very good colour/taste combination.
