Aircraft: A330-223 9M-MKT
Meal: Dinner - Meal tray consisted of a soft brown roll with Canola spread, mini poppadums, hari (coriander) chutney, salad. The entree was chicken curry with biryani rice, and mildly spiced mix vegetables. Dessert was Rasgulla (Cheese Balls in Sugar Syrup)
Drink: Shiraz (possibly Chilean too)
Comments: Poor again from Malaysian. I'm not quite sure where they are heading with their catering. The taste is poor, the variety thin, the quantities small. It's not going to please either the Indians, Malays or the Europeans because the taste is so muddled. I would prefer carrying my BK or Delifrance from the ground.

Appetiser -- Duck breast
Midcourse -- Soba noodles
Lunch -- Venison stew with pasta and asparagus
Dessert -- Chocolate cream cake
Drink: Joseph Perrier Cuvee Royale 1999
Comments: I really like Malaysia's new-style business class meal service. Despite earlier comments that it is awkardly presented by the staff...it appears they now have the routine down pat.

The presentation and variety of serving dishes are first rate. Meal options are as varied and interesting as at many fine restaurants in world class cities.

Exceptional, attentive service by the cabin crew. Everyone was offered seconds of satay. This, and the meal on the way down rank among the best premium meals I have seen. First class quality. Only downside was no cheese plate.

Meal: Lunch, breakfast - FA`s were serving salted peanuts after takeoff with soft drinks and beer.

For lunch beef steak was served with boiled potatoes and vegetable ragout. Pretty tasty.
Also a tuna salad with tomato was included, and some cake with canned drinking water.

For breakfast you could choose between omlette set and shrimp rice... both breakfasts had a nice fruit salad and some jam, butter and croissant, plus fruit yoghurt and canned orange juice. You could get coffee or tea also.
Drink: Beer, Red/White wine, several soft drinks
Comments: Pretty tasty food, good selection of side dishes, nice portions and excellent service by the wonderful asian FA`s.

Meal: Dinner - Wholemeal roll, Asian Salad with seafood and glass noodles, Chinese fried rice with Steamed Fish and fresh Veggies. Somekind of struddle for dessert.
Drink: Mineral Water
Comments: After a more than a 4 hour delay due to the closure of the airport caused by an aircraft getting stuck on the runway, it was more like a late night supper. I wanted a glass of wine as I was so tired from the wait at the airport only to find out that they have witdrawn alcoholic drinks from Business Class on all domestic flights to cut cost. Plus the lounge was closed for renovation. So I was not very pleased. The meal was just average.

Flight duration: 7h 30m
Class: business
Aircraft: Boeing 777-200ER, Golden Club (Business)
Meal: Brunch & Light Refreshments - Brunch: Fruit Yoghurt; Breads served with Butter, Jam, Honey or Marmalade; Nasi Lemak (traditional Malaysian breakfast of rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaves, served with Cuttlefish sambal, and accompaniments of peanuts, anchovies, cucumber and boiled egg); Fresh Cut Seasonal Fruit with ice cream.

My travel companion had the same except for the mains of Chinese Style Roasted Chicken Supreme, served with Musroom Rice and Chinese Mixed Vegetables.

Light Refreshment: selection of hot savouries - Salmon Tartlette, Prawn on Toast, Chicken Bologna Mini Lasagne, Roasted Vegetable Puff; Vanilla Strawberry Truffle.
Drink: Mineral Water, variety of Juices, Soft Drinks and Mixers; Black Teas, Green and Floral Teas, Perfect Before Bedtime; Gourmet Coffee including Nespresso; Aperitifs; Cocktails; Spirits; Beers; Liquers; Port; Champagne; Red Wine; White Wine.
Comments: Besides the refurbished cabin with lie-flat seats, the cabin, linen, and crockery were all part of the new "An Experience Redefined" programme, which updates the MAS in-flight services to a more contemporary setting, with an emphasis on fine-dining in the sky. Fresh table linens in the heliconia design, complemented with silverware, smart white Wedgwood and Italian crystal are tasteful and refreshing.

There are no more trolleys wheeling up and down the aisles with food chosen from china dishes - the food is pre-ordered from the menu and it is fully plated up when presented. I've heard comments that the while the service is smarter, the portions have become smaller. Didn't try asking for seconds, so don't know if this is true.

Do look into the new Beverages Menu and ask for the "Teh Tarik", meaning "pulled" tea, brewed strong and milky with a frothy head, a favourite of many a homesick Malaysian! Otherwise, there's plenty else to choose from including gourmet coffee made on-demand.

Aircraft: Boeing 777-200ER, Golden Club (Business)
Meal: Refreshment/Supper and Breakfast - Refreshment/Supper: Appetizer of Roasted Duck Breast, Smoked Salmon, Pan-seared Scallop and Garnishes; Malaysian Satay with a choice of charocal grilled chicken, beef or venison topped with a spicy peanut sauce; Lemon Tart with Strawberry.

Breakfast: Health Drink; Fresh Fruit Juices; Seasonal Fresh Fruits; Muesli with Fresh or Low-fat Milk; Bakery Selection with Jam, Marmalade or Honey; Nasi Lemak (Malaysian coconut steamed rice with prawn sambal and traditional accompaniments). Travel companion had the same except for Cheese Omelette with Mornay Sauce, Grilled Beef Sausage and Grilled Chicken Medallion.
Drink: Aperitifs & Cocktails, Champagne & Wines, Spirits, Beer, Liqueurs, Soft Drinks & Mixers, Oolong Tea
Comments: Malaysia Airline’s signature dish of charcoal-grilled Satay is always welcome, particularly the new venison variety. Cabin was fairly empty so we were pressed to have plenty of second helpings.

Plane wasn't one of the newly refurbished ones, but was still fine - it was the old three-class configuration. In some ways, the old "cradle" seats are better padded than the new lie-flat variety and seem wider too.

Complimentary use of Golden Lounge in KLIA while waiting for connecting flight was a nice touch as well.

Flight duration: 7:30

Aircraft type & class: Boeing 777-200 ER, Golden Club (Business) – upgraded using Enrich points
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Brunch and Refreshments
Contents of the meal: Brunch: Health drink; fresh fruit juices; seasonal fresh fruits; selection of baked goods with jam, marmalade or honey; main courses of either: Chilli Grilled Tuna OR Linguine Pasta with Pesto OR Nasi Lemak (traditional Malaysian breakfast dish of fragrant rice cooked with coconut milk, served with prawn and cuttlefish sambal, cucumber, hard-boiled egg, crunchy deep-fried peanuts); warm brownies; ice-cream. Refreshment: Hot savouries of prawn pineapple skewers, mini chicken pie and baked herb Swiss brown mushrooms; blueberry cheese cake.

Comments: Plane was one of the newly refurbished Boeing 777-200, two-class configuration (Business and Economy) with lie-flat seats in Business Class and latest IFE with on-demand movies. Häagen-Dazs “Cookies & Cream” ice-cream, served much later, while most passengers were asleep was a treat for us who couldn’t sleep! Service was efficient and friendly, even though the Golden Club cabin (35 seats) was almost completely full. Airline still uses plastic knives though, which seems somewhat incongruous with the silver cutlery!

Breakfast: Juices, yoghurt drink, muesli, seasonal fruits, choice of baked goods with jam or honey, Nasi Lemak (Malaysian coconut steamed rice with prawn sambal, cucumber, fried peanuts and hard-boiled egg), accompanied with assortment of vegetables including asparagus with hollandaise sauce and baked mushrooms.

Comments: Malaysia Airline’s signature dish of charcoal-grilled Satay (voted Skytrax Best Airlines Signature Dish 2003) is always memorable – flight crew kept pressing us to have more Satay as the cabin was very empty. Cabin staff were also very obliging in bringing me a large bottle of water so I didn’t have to bother them during the night. Use of Golden Lounge in Kuala Lumpur was also a nice touch while waiting for our flight KUL-SIN at 0805.
