Flying from: Newark to Milwaukee, 22 December 2002
Aircraft Type and Class: DC-9, single class
Meal Type: Snack - Pretzels and Nuts, 2 freshly baked chocolate
chip
cookies
Drink: Diet Pepsi
Comments: "On my last flight on this same route with Midwest
Express
this summer, I had Mushroom filled pasta, crab and lobster cake, salad,
red wine and an individual-sized cheesecake for desert. This pic shows
their "new" meal service. Still have friendly flight attendants and
the
best seating, but their food, meal, catering, which far surpassed all other domestic
airlines for economy class, is now no better than Southwest, with the
exception of the cookies. Hope this isn't the end of a terrific airline."
Rating 1-10: 2 - pretty spectacular drop for such a good airline.

Flying from: Kansas City Int'l MCI to Dallas DFW, 11 October
2002
Class: Y

corn.
Drink: Red Wine (not shown)
Comments: "A pretty good meal I must say on a relatively
short flight."
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8

Flying from: Milwakee to New York La Guardia, 10 September
2002
Class: Economy/Single class
Meal type: Dinner - Warm crab cake, gomiti pasta with cheese
and mushrooms, mixed salad and coconut whipped cream cake. Packed roll of bread
and butter on the side. The other choice was cold chicken cuts with salad.
Drink: Napa Chardonnay or undisclosed red.
Comments: "The crab cake was very good. The pasta was
overcooked and the mushroom sauce was hidden in a corner behind the crab cake
( you discover it last...). Salad was good yet nondescript and the coconut cake
was good but overwhelmingly sweet."
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 7.5. Again a perfect 10 for the effort
of the meal!!!! Being picky on generosity the cake was not so good and the gomiti
pasta chewy. But, applause! ( U.S. based airlines, please learn how to put together
a meal for economy!!!)

Flying from: New York La Guardia to Milwakee, 10 September
2002
Class: Economy/single class
Meal type: Small breakfast - Warm leek, cheese and ham quiche,
warm apples on the side, cold fresh fruit salad, cherry pie
Drink: Coffee, tea, champagne.
Comments: "The quiche was very good and created a nice
contrast with the warm apples ( although they looked like boiled potatoes untiul
the first bite...), fruit salad was good. The small cake was of almost marble
consistency and with a coconut (???) residue. Edible yet mysterious."
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8. It is a perfect 10 for the fact
that they serve a great breakfast in coach on china wiping out (literally) ALL
U.S. carriers. The cake and the apple bring it down a notch though. Yet a great
applause!
