Route: Bangkok (BKK) Guangzhou (CAN), 21 May 2005
Ticket price: Round trip for 5,345 baht net (135 USD.)
Flight duration: 2 hrs 36 min
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 757-28A, Economy class
Business or leisure trip: Leisure trip
Meal type: Lunch
Contents of the meal: Fish cake with curry sauce and rice, Soft bun with butter, Orange pudding, and Marble cake
Drinks: Soft drinks, Tea, and Coffee
Comments: The fish cake taste a lot better than it looks, but the curry sauce was too little and the vegetables were all soaked. The rice was so dry and stiff. For the dessert, I guess the orange pudding and the cake was put together along with the meal in the heater. The pudding was supposed to be eaten cool but it was all melted, and the cake was so hard and dry as if it was heater over and over again.

Comments: The chicken tastes just fine, but the curry sauce was too little. The rice was over heated that it was so dry and stiff. For the dessert, this time the pudding is served cool, not heated together with the meal. The cake tastes just fine.

Dry-roasted peanuts (Koh-Kae Peanut Snack)

Route: Bangkok (BKK) to Chiang Mai (CNX), 16 July 2004
Ticket Price: Round trip for 1,908 baht (47 USD.)
Flight Duration: 48 min
Aircraft type & Class: Boeing 757-200, Economy
Business or leisure trip: Leisure trip
Meal type: Snack
Salted peanuts
Drink: Coke, Sprite, and Orange Juice
Comments: The service was rather slow, I sat in row 13 and it took about 25 minutes before the flight attendants reached us. Soft drinks were poured from a 1.25 litre bottle, and orange juice came right out from the 1 litre can, that’s why it was so slow. With a very short flight time, they were in a rush. Didn’t really expect anything much from a low cost airliner.

Route: HKG to BKK, 18 Sep 2003, flight OX203
Ticket price: HKD 1490 rtn inc taxes (ar. 150 USD)
Flight duration: 2 hrs 10 mins
Aircraft type & class: HS-UTD, 747-146, Y Class, seat 4A
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Hot lunch
Contents of the meal: After an hour, the meal was served, the choice was between rice and noodles. I chose the pork rice, and it came with a buttercake, slices of pineapple and melon, a soft roll and butter plus a second drinkround. The meal tasted simple, like if it came from a foodcourt instead of a restaurant but nice nevertheless. Also I noted Orient Thai had its logo printed on about every item; the toothpick, the towelette, the salt, the sugar, the peanuts, the hankies, while bigger airlines often don't even bother. Exact the same meal options were offered on the morning return flight three days later
Drink: a cold drink plus peanuts round, the orange juice came out of 2 litre-cans which were opened manually by the F/A's by a canopener and that it tasted a bit chemical. After the meal there was a coffee/tea round but no alcoholic beveraged were offered
Comments: Sorry for the bad quality picture, but I hope the airline is special enough to qualify. I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of the service, comparing to the small meals Cathay Pacific served on a 2 hrs flight to Manila and the bad low cost name the airline has.
