Comments: No Chicken offered due to bird flu at that
time, so chose the fish which did not let me down (Personally I never
choose to eat fish if there's chicken). Salad was fresh, the garlic butter
sauce was really tasty along with the fish which was sound quality! food, meal, catering
out of Hong Kong always give me surprises!

Route: Singapore - Melbourne, 19 May 2004
Ticket price: S$ 950
Flight duration: 7 hrs
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 747-400 Economy
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Dinner
As listed in the menu:
Appetiser: Pasta and Ham Salad
Main: Chicken in rosemary jus with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes
Cheese: Cheese and crackers
Dessert: Ice Cream
From the bakery: Roll and Butter
Drink: Unknown French White Wine
Comments: Wonderful meal in the air served efficiently
barely an hour into the flight. The chicken was moist and tender and quite
tasty with the seasoning. The salad was fine and despite being a cold
salad, it did taste fresh. The roll would be lovelier if it were warmer.
That brand of Danish ice cream was a good choice. Exquisite and elaborate
level of service from SQ... no complains on that aspect. The flight crew
were wonderful in their delivery and I am impressed with their professionalism,
style and poise throughout the flight.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 9.5 (a choice of desserts would
make it a full 10) :D

Ticket Price: GBP475, ex tax
Type of Trip: Leisure
Flight Duration: 12 hours 45 min
Meal Type: Breakfast
Contents of meal: Fried Rice Vermicilli with an assortment of vegetables,
fruit appetiser, cereal (mixed fruit oat crunchies), breakfast roll with
butter and preserves.
Drink: Coffee and Orange Juice
Comment: I added the green pickled chilli as well as
SIA's Kris Chilli Sauce and it tasted fantastic, abit a little spicy not
too oily, but not too dry either... Fruit tasted really fresh... Roll
was warm... In between the meal services, I had a tuna and sweercorn sandwich
and a 2-cheese salad roll, which was wonderful (Sorry I forgot about the
pictures). And with the consistent fantastic service throughout the flight,
the wonderful leg space since i had the entire row to myself, what more
can i say?

Type of Trip: Leisure
Flight Duration: 12 hours 45 min
Meal Type: Lunch
Contents of Meal: Spiral Pasta Salad with Prawns, Chicken beast in
sauce with roast vegetables and potatoes (created by Gordon Ramsay,
UK), Cheese and Crackers, Roll and Butter, Ice Cream
Drink: Coffee and Apple Juice
Comments: I usually go for the oriental option, but this
time decided
to give the western option a try and i was not disappointed. Chicken
was succulent and not at all overcooked and the roast potatoes were
one of the best i ever tasted. The pasta for the appetiser was
undercooked, tasted a little weird. Ice cream was juz okay, but it
arrived when i was juz starting my main course, so was slightly melted
when I finally came round to it (I was one of the last to be served).
Service on this flight was one of the best I ever had on SQ, partly
due to the fact that it was only 2/3 full and I had an entire row to
myself. The wonderful service completely made up the fact that the
Inflight Entertainment System was not working for the 1st 3 hours.
Rating: 8 for the meal, 10 for the service.

Contents: (as copied from menu) - Fruit Appetiser, Cereal, Braised egg
noodles with chicken, black mushrooms and leafy greens, breakfast roll,
butter and fruit preserve
Drink: Coffee, and Orange Juice
Comments: Great Breakfast, very fulling, so much so that
i didn't even eat the cereal... the chicken was still juicy which is rare
for an airline meal... Service, however, on this flight was not up to
the SQ standard that is so expected of them. Flight was delayed for 2
hours due to a technical fault.
Rating: 9 for the breakfast, 6.5 for the service

Rice, Cheese and Cracker, Ice Cream, Roll and Butter

Comments: The fish was a little overcooked and dry, but
the sauce was a good accompliment. Appetiser was great... I like the cold
potato salad and ice cream was a nice finishing touch... Think it was
a Mars bar, though i can't quite remember... In between the meals there
was a snack service, and the FAs were serving sandwiches, apples, Toblerone
and Ritz Bits...
