Contents of the meal: Smoked Salmon with Thai Style rice noodle salad, Pan fried fish fillet served with lemon thyme sauce, stuffed tomato with egg, spinach and steamed potato, Cheese and crackers, ice cream.
Drink: Singapore Sling, 7-UP
Comments: Thai Style rice noodle was hard and cold. Tasted really bad. The main course of fish and potatoes was surprisingly good (created by George Blanc, a member of SQ's International Culinary Panel.
(Notice the plastic cup containing the 7-Up... I wonder how the Olympic Airlines cup ended up onboard this SQ flight!!!!)
Rating: 7

Route: TPE-SIN, July 2005
Flight duration: 3hrs 30 min
Aircraft type & class: B777-300/ Economy. 9V-SYE
Business or leisure trip: Business
Meal type: After take off drinks, Lunch
Contents of the meal: Mints specially wrapped in SQ wrappers were handed out to passengers at check in. Apple juice/orange juice/ beer/ white wine were offered with packs of salted nuts were offered immediately after takeoff. Ah Yat's chicken with assorted mushrooms and steamed rice, Japanese soba with seasoned shrimps, ice cream, Taiwanese pineapple snack.
Drink: coke and Chinese Tea
Comments: There's nothing special about the main which was basically chicken stir fried with mushrooms. The chicken tasted weird and had an odd smell...something you would get when meats starts turning bad (note: I did not suffer from any side effects after the meal). The soba and shrimps was refreshing. This was accompanied by Japanese soy sauce and wasabe. The Haagen Daz ice cream was frozen hard when it was distributed to the passengers. The pineapple snack and Chinese tea was a nice and refreshing end to the meal.
