Flying from: Rome to Geneva, 8 March 2003
Class: Economy class on AVRO RJ100 jet.
Meal type: breakfast - A generous multiple offering of hot croissants from a basket and an apricot yogurt. Later on a Swiss milk chocolate tablet was offered.
Drink: Hot lemon tea out of a selection of soft drinks, juices mineral water (still/sparkling) or tea/coffee.
Comments: "This breakfast exemplifies how you can get a good result with minimum efforts. No trays here or lot of utensils, but a stylish
service that appeals to the public. The old chinaware of Swissair/Crossair has been replaced by lighter weight and cheaper plastic ware, nevertheless maintaining a distinctive stylish design. Croissant quality was good but I'd prefer them a bit sweeter. As usual, a very attentive cabin crew, leather seats and a great view of Mont Blanc on approach to Geneva made up for an extremely enjoyable flight."

Flying from: Geneva to Rome, 8 March 2003
Class: Economy class on Embraer 145 jet.
Meal type: Snack - A selection of sandwiches (two types: roastbeef and cole slaw or camembert cheese and salad), offered by the flight attendant from a tray. Later on a Swiss chocolate taler was offered.
Drink: Champagne Nicholas Feuillatte Brut out of a selection of soft drinks, juices, wines, mineral water (still/sparkling) or tea/coffee.
Comments: "Swiss is carrying on the tradition of sandwiches as originally conceived by predecessor Crossair. Unfortunately cost cutting
shows nowadays: bread is usually not as good as it used to be and filling is generally less creative. In this case the roastbeef sandwich was average quality, while the cheese one was absolutely tasteless. Not bad anyway for a mid afternoon flight lasting 1 hour 15 minutes. One good thing is that champagne service has been retained, and although the good old times are gone the service provided is still more than enjoyable."
