Company: US Airways
Flying from: Charlotte NC to London, 11 August 2002
Aircraft type & class: Airbus A330, economy
Meal type: dinner - Penne Pasta with side salad, vinegarette
dressing, crossiant, butter, cheddar cheese, crackers and fudge brownie.
Drink: US Airways now charges for alcoholic drinks on international
flights (in economy class), so the screwdriver was $3 extra.
Comments: "The meal on the return flight was the same
offering: chicken or pasta. The chicken was horrible: rubbery and flavorless.
All of the side dishes were the same. If offered again, I'd choose the pasta."
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8

Meal type: Breakfast - Bran Pancakes, Berry Muffin, Strawberry
Banana Yogurt, Fruit Salad, assorted condiments

Flying from: Pittsburgh PIT to Seattle SEA, 12 November 2002
Aircraft type & class: A319 FC
Meal type: Transcontinental Dinner FC - Shrimp with cocktail
sauce, mixed salad, choice of 3 mains including steak with mash red potatoes
+ pepper medley, or prawns with rice. Swirl cheesecake
Comments: "Shrimp was good though the puff pastry and
the sauce in it were a bit dried out. Good w/o the sauce. Salad was good as
usual. Prawn main course was reported good. The beef steak tasted like it had
been steamed which seems to be typical of steaks prepared in US Airbus galleys
(have had this "style" of steak only on Airbus flights and not Boeing
galleys for whatever reason). Cheese cake varies in creaminess. Companion prefers
the less creamy cheesecake."
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8 for prawn main, 6 for steak main

Flying from: Miami MIA to Pittsburgh PIT, 12 November 2002
Aircraft type & class: 737-400 FC
Meal type: Lunch FC - Mixed salad, herb and cheese pizza or
pesto chicken with rice, choice of bread, Ruger Xo Xo hazelnut chocolate.
Drink: red wine
Comments: "Both meals appear to be fall lunches and dinners
for US east coast flights. Pizza was rather good. The rice with the chicken
carried off a little better and was better cooked than an earlier identical
meal. It's not quite risotto but not normal rice either. Can't figure what they
are trying to make it to be. Ruger Xo Xo chocolate sticks (made in Austria)
are delicious."

cantaloupe, 2 strawberries + 1/2 orange sliced), yoghurt, omelette with salsa

Comments: "Good breakfast. Cantaloupe slices variedin
ripeness within the same salad. Omelette was good quality though the hashbrowns
didn't reheat well."
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 7

was more substantive than the prawns."
