The bloody mary also hit the spot and was delicious. Great service by the Charlotte based crew. After the meal, we were served up to 5 bags each of Cape Cod Kettle cooked Potato Chips to go with our drinks. You can't beat that! The total fare was only $86 from PIT-PHL-GCM-CLT-PIT.

Route: Rome to Philadelphia, 5 Jan 2004
Price: $700 r/t and free upgrade
Flight Duration: 9 hours
Craft: Airbus 330, Envoy Class, Leisure Trip
Business or leisure trip: lunch in 4 courses
Cocktails and cashews, smoked salmon appetizer, three main course choices(I have included two, one I had, one my wife had) of Halibut Roman Style with pine nuts, sauce, grated parmesan, polenta medallions and sauteed spinace. My wife had the Cannelloni Florentine stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach with Cardinal sauce, sauteed wild mushrooms and topped with grated Grana Padano cheese. Then a course of a selection of cheeses, a little fresh fruit and petit cookies.
Then we had an Breakfast Refreshment right before landing, picture included
Drink plenty of drinks starting with Johnnie Walker Black Label, French and Domestic Wine, a 1998 Bordeaux that was delicious, also Champagne, Taitenger non-vintage, that was quite good. With dessert we partook in the cognac, as seen in the picture.
Comments: Excellent service, US Air only has 2 classes of service since 9/11/01, Economy and Envoy. Envoy is a hybrid of First and Business but has very comfortable seating, excellent service and fantastic selection of music/film/tv options(better than I have seen in First class on many international carriers)
Rating: 9/10 overall excellent only drawback is that the main course is still served on tray(very business quality vs. first class)

Comments: The "salad" was awfully feeble, gobbled it up in about two bites! Chicken had an intriguing sauce and was fairly good, as was the rice. Not too piping hot, but not dried out, either

Business or leisure trip: "snack"
Small packages of Pepperidge Farms Goldfish, Sunmaid Raisins, Nabisco Oreos, potato chips, a small ham sandwich, a moist towelette, and a (losing) instant win game piece
Drink A half-Coke was provided for free.
Comments: This was known as the "snack" which was available for purchase for $5. There were also two "meals" that could be purchased for $10. I was disappointed with the fact that we had to pay extra for a meal, but even more disappointed with the fact that the snack was just a bunch of prepackaged processed foods. I must have purchased as much packaging as food!
The only fresh item was the sandwich, which was good but small.

Smoked salmon salad with mango pieces, huge sugar cookie.
Drink Diet sprite
Comments: Not bad, the "smoked salmon" was really lox pieces...too many sesame seeds though. Mango was fresh. Dressing was icky. The other option on that flight was a chicken and vegetable wrap (not pictured.) Came with a large sugar cookie. The chicken wrap came with chips and the salad did not. Tasty. One of those "In Flight Cafe" things. Heard they will be changing to some "Wolfgang Puck" brand for the new year.
