Route: AMS - PHL, 14 Mar 2006
Ticket price: EUR 1700
Flight duration: 8h 30m
Class: business
Aircraft: Boeing 767
Meal: Dinner; boxed pizza snack - Mimosa (champagne with red orange juice;
excellent)
Red wine (Merlot) with salted nuts (good)
Crew salad (oil/vinegar was over date! Otherwise very good)
Ravioli dried tomatoes and wodka sauce
Dessert: cookies, cheese, undefined sweet white thing (reasonable)
One hour before arrival: boxed pizza with small salad (again with oil/vinegar
over date) (nice and warm)
Drink: Mimosa, merlot, diet Coke
Comments: I travelled on a B-code ticket (full price economy) and upgraded
using my dividend miles. By the way, the pursers admitted being a little
worried because there were only 9 travellers in Envoy (15 empty seats!).
The mimosa is always nice; I really like the red orange juice.
The merlot red wine was fine; nothing special but also no headache.
As usual my vegetarian meal had been forgotten, so the flight attendant
gave me her crew salad, which was very nice of her and tasted excellent.
The only critique would be the enormous amount of croutons.
The cheese ravioli was okay. I did not notice any wodka taste (but then
again, wodka is tasteless isn't it?). I did not like the fried spinach
on top of the ravioli; too greasy.
The cheese and sweet dessert was fine, but next time I will pass the white
sweet thing. It was undefinable and my teeth almost fell out because of
the amount of sugar.
An hour or so before arrival we were served a boxed pizza Margharita.
Not good calorie wise, but the taste and texture were above expectations.
I did not take a picture of the white and brown chocolates that are given
at the end of the flight to all Envoy passengers. They were excellent
but not exceptional.
All in all a very reasonable meal.

Aircraft: A330-323X
Meal: Dinner - For Starters: Pan-fried Greek Halumi cheese on a bed of
Bibb spinach and red endive, accompanied by oven-roasted onions, yellow

of chicken with cornbread, pecan and sausage stuffing, served with a rhubarb
compote and accompanied by buttermilk mashed potatoes and gravy (Developed
by Robert Kinkead Jr.- Washington D.C.).
Desert: A selection of cheeses, grapes and a piece of cake.
Drink: Orange juice, Cappuccino
Comments: The fried cheese was horribly dry, first I thought it's a cold
hashbrown. Don't know, why they still have that on the menu. The chicken
must have been the pick of the day - very delicious ! Chese cake and Cappiccino
were also great.

Contents of the meal: For Starters - Pan fried Greek Halumi cheese on
a bed of Bibb spinach and red endive, accompanied by oven-roasted onions,

balsamic dressing; Entrees - Steel City Filet Mignon/Chesapeake Bay Crabmeat
Gratin; In Closing - A selection of cheeses and fruit.
Drink: Champagne/G&T/White Wine/Red Wine
Comments: Very average. The starter was awful - cold congealed cheese
on tepid salad. Steak (by the US Airways Signature Chep, Robert Kinkead
of Kinkead's Restaurant in Washington DC) was OK, but a bit overcooked.
They gave up on service after throwing the cheese on to my table, so didn't
get offered coffee! Not impressive at all, which is a shame since the
outbound flight was basically OK.
