Meal: Cocktail Snack (1st image), Lunch (2nd and 3rd images)
Cocktail Snack- "Cocktail Savouries" cheese biscuits,
Orange Juice
Lunch-
Chicken in barbecue sauce w/ creamy mashed potatoes and corn/peas, Whole
Wheat and White twin bread rolls, Salad w/ Sesame Ginger Dressing, Crackers
w/ cheese spread, butter, and grapes, "Harrogate Spa" spring
water
"Beechdean" Sticky Toffee Fudge ice cream (3rd image)
Drinks: Orange Juice, Apple Juice (not shown)
Comments: The cheese biscuits were awesome- they should serve these
in the U.S. instead of those useless pretzels.
Lunch was an excellent meal overall. The chicken was done perfectly- United's
chicken has been consistently top quality. The mashed potatoes were creamy
and delicious but not heavy. Bread rolls, salad, and crackers were all
good as well. The cheese spread didn't look so good at first, but it tasted
wonderful.
Just when I thought the meal was over, the FAs came around with generously
sized cups of ice cream. They even offered seconds, but I decided not
to get any. As far as quality goes, the ice cream was some of the best
that I have tasted.

Comments: This was the best meal I had in a long time. Everything
was delicious. The steak was a little rare, which I don't like rare meat,
but it was delicious. I don't eat vegetables, but I tried some of them
and gave the rest to my father. The baked/mashed potato was kind of cheap
because it was like mashed potatoes filled into a shell of a potato and
then cheese sauce on it. It was pretty good actually, but I thought it
was kind of cheap. The cake was delicious it made the meal even better.

Comments: Unexpected upgrade was pleasant. No complain about such
a relatively short flight, but might be possible to serve something different
than this (including presentation – Photo 2). Cheeses were descent
and strawberry was exceptionally fresh and sweet. The flight attendants
were truly professional and continuously served beverages for the entire
flight. Because of the stormy weather hit the Denver area, we could not
get off the airplane for more than 1.5 h. The flight attendants came with
a glass of water until the airport resumed its operation.

Comments: No complain about such a relatively short flight, but
could be something different than this. Actually, the flight attendants
were very good and always tried to do something more on this flight. One
thing I have noticed on this flight was there was a Japanese lady who
could not speak English at all on board. Although none of the flight attendant
could speak Japanese, they eventually communicated each other. Human being

Comments: It was excellent food for first class seats, of course!
By the time they brought around the ice cream, I had a first class stomach-ache
as well. The quiche was a tad greasy and the salad dressings weren't very
good but other than that, super.

However, by the end of the flight I was stuffed! They also served us Edy's

Salmon Ceasar salad. HUGE chunk of chilled salon over lettuce with cherry

the vinagarette dressing took care of that. Roll was warm and soft. Dessert

Drink:: Bloody Marys.

(All nearby people had chicken and rice so I had no ideas how good/bad

Cape cod plain potato chips (14g), 2 breadsticks, tiny Milky Way, small
raisins, two Oreos, and strange spreadable cheese thing with a faux French
name
Drink:: Starbucks coffee
Comments: Adorable. Even the normally small things,
the raisins and Milky Way were smaller than normal small packets: I found
them the perfect size because there was so much variety. I'd requested
vegan, and the strange cheese-like thing was dairy, but it sure beat the
"vegan" snack I got on the other direction which was a turkey
and cheese sandwich. This snack pack really won me over because there
were so many little options - I didn't need to eat everything, I could
just pick the mini snacks that appealed. My only criticism is that the
two little breadsticks didn't seem like enough to contain all the odd
cheese thing - were we supposed to dip our oreos in it?

Meal: breakfast (vegan)
a hot peppers, onions and fried potatoes dish, fruit
salad, and vegan cinnamon donut
Drink:: Starbucks coffee
Comments: Kudos to United for giving real vegetables
out for breakfast- most airlines stick with a starches and fruit. The
vegetables were soggy, waxy, and greasy, and the potatoes were not nearly
fried enough. This was a special order vegan meal, and it was delivered
accurately, before everybody else, and contained no non-vegan ingredients.
The fruit salad saved this meal- usually airline melon is hard and unripe,
but this was sweet, soft and delicious. Donut was of normal mediocre quality
for a packaged donut, but this was a quite filling breakfast even without
it.
