Dinner consisted of chicken with pasta (there was a choice of two items) served with small salad with dressing, a packaged roll, a piece of carrot cake, a wedge of processed cheese, water crackers and a bottle of water. Breakfast before arrival was a warm croissant served with butter, jam and rasperry yogurt.

Tomato juice and water

I was glad that American has improved its Economy class food. The bottle of water and the cheese with crackers were a nice addition. I took a flight with them to Frankfurt a few months before and they did not have those items on the tray. Also, the real carrot cake for dessert was a welcome change from the pre-packaged stuff they had. I did not have alcohol but I believe that you had to pay for it. Portions were about average compared to other airlines.
