First Class
Lunch , Special meal: no
We were served a cold light lunch. Choice was a turkey and cheese sandwich or a tomato and burrata pannini. The tray consisted of a fairly nice salad, veggies with hummus, packaged flat bread sticks, a turkey and cheese sandwich, and a brownie. The lunch was average and mildly filling. The presentation was standard.

Equipment: The presentation was standard for domestic American Airlines premium cabin. The only problem is that there is still a mix of glass or china with plastic. The aircraft itself appeared to be new, possibly an A321NEO. The seats were actually comfortable and the WiFi worked better than on several previous flights. The pre-meal snacks were atrocious in that we were served a package of mixed nuts with maybe a dozen nuts total. If American plans to downgrade meals, then they need to upgrade snacks such as offering a wider variety or larger sized packages. // Other: The biggest disappointment is that cabin and cockpit crew have the option of ordering a full hot entree provided by the catering company. On this flight two meals were delivered to the gate. One with red-striped foil said PASTA and the other yellow-striped foil meal had no label and was probably chicken. I find it very disappointing that passengers in a premium cabin are served a small cold meal while flight crew receive hot entrees supplied by the catering company. On a previous flight, this happened as well; I believe that there was a hot entree for all five crew members. When passengers are paying fares higher than pre-COVID to fly in premium cabin, there needs to be better overall service especially with meals and beverages.
