When our flight attendant took meal orders, I noted that I preordered my dinner. She was very apologetic and said that catering didn't load any preordered meals. I opted for the chicken enchilada. It was quite good. The enchilada was crispy and there was an ample amount of chicken. The sauce was good and not overly spicy which some people may not appreciate. The salad was standard American baby greens with roasted tomatoes. We received the usual olive oil and vinegar dressing which is very liquid and tends to drip on everything when moved from plate to mouth. The corn and cucumber relish was interesting and tasted good. The key lime cheesecake is mass produced but tasty.

Other: This flight was delayed almost 2.5 hours due to maintenance. The inbound aircraft arrived at the gate at 5:51 the day before our flight. It sat at the gate overnight and two hours prior to departure, I received a text that the flight was delayed 63 minutes. Approximately two hours later, I received another text regarding a further delay. When I questioned the agent at the Admiral's Club, the computer showed that this was due to a maintenance issue which was reported when the aircraft arrived yesterday. Why American waited until two hours prior to departure is a mystery as this is not the first time that I encountered a maintenance delay when there was adequate time to complete the maintenance without incurring a delay. Further, our Captain verified that the aircraft arrived in PHX with a noted maintenance issue. Well done American, you sure know how to keep your flights punctual. I sent a complaint to American about this whole experience and they sent a measly 5000 frequent flier points which costs them nothing and is useless to some customers. I requested a small flight credit and that was eventually granted.
