Dinner , Special meal: no
Normally I fly another airline but had the opportunity to fly Delta. I expected more on this flight as I hear some much positivity about Delta. First, I fully understand that the f/a is present for our safety primarily, not to be our server. In light of that, our premium cabin f/a, Lisa, had a lot to be desired. Upon boarding, it was very evident that she was upset with the catering company based on her comments to a co-worker and her behavior. Through out the flight, she seemed to pay more attention to some passengers than others. Was this based on status? The catering issue affected me as I pre-ordered lasagna which is a locally curated meal available by pre-order. Lisa's co-worker who was assigned to main cabin worked our cabin as well and she was very apologetic in that they ran out of lasagna by the time my meal was served. I opted for beef short ribs. The beef was medium rare which is my preference, the potatoes were a bit dry and reminded me of dehydrated potatoes from a box. The green beans were bland. Salad was baby greens with tomatoes. The tiramisu for dessert was obviously mass-produced but was creamy and had the best taste of the entire meal. I wanted to try the cabernet but Lisa never made eye contact with me and even when I raised my hand, she walked past so I never sampled the wine. Overall, the meal was nothing spectacular and really ruined my perception that Delta meals would be better than American's. Lastly, service was far below expectations.

Meal acceptable but crew questionable

Equipment: Standard Delta flatware and dishes. The tray has a non-skid surface which is nice. Another Delta tough is using cloth placemats on the tray table.
