BOB / Buy-on-board
Breakfast , Special meal: no
This is the single worst item I have ever eaten on an airliner, and worst of all, it was sold to me.
The bread was so hard and dry that I almost hurt my teeth taking my first unprepared bite. It was extremely hard to chew, and the orange juice didn't even help much to wash it down my throat. Tasteless as well. After a few bites, I tried to just open it up and eat the turkey and cheese. I then realized the turkey was cold and hard (not in the normal way turkey is served chilled, just HARD) and the cheese also was close to frozen.
To put this into perspective; I was starving, I have very low expectations, and yet I had to throw it away after just a few bites. When FAs came by for the trash, both myself and someone across the aisle threw basically whole sandwiches away, then upon both of us realizing that the other person couldn't stomach more than a few bites either, we made eye contact and shook our heads in disapproval. Delta usually has decent buy on board, this was before COVID cutbacks, not sure what the excuse was here. Awful. Rated a 2 instead of a 1 only because the Biscoff cookies were still "something" edible.
