Business Class

Lunch , Special meal: no
One of the best Emirate meals in business class that I had for a long time! I started with a Vodka martini which they strangely made with Martini Rosso but it actually tasted quite okay albeit a bit sweet. My starter was a delicious smoked chicken breast with some feta cheese and the main was a filet steak which actually came out nice and tender rather then the usual hard cooked airplane steak. The potato gratin that came with it was delicious as was the cheese platter that had 5 different cheeses on it, all but one of them being really tasty. I later asked in the galley if they have anything else to eat as Emirates strangely things one single meal is enough on a 7+ hour flight and to my surprise, they offered to serve me an entire additional meal from the ones that were left over. They told me it's "on my own risk as the meals are supposed to be eaten within 1 hour of heating" but I was okay with that (and, luckily, did not get sick either!). So I had the Singapore style chicken rice which was okay but not even remotely as good as the real thing you get in Singapore itself (or the steak I had earlier, for that matter). All in all, a very satisfying flight!

Excellent

Other: Emirates uses both the A380 and their 777s on this route and we were unfortunately on one of the latter. To add to it, it was one of their oldest aircrafts of this model which turned out to make a huge difference as you could really feel it 'being old' and the entertainment system was of an older type which was extremely hard to navigate. No USB plugs or Wifi either which together with the outdated seats is just not worthy an airline like Emirates. Food was delicious and service fairly good on this leg but unless Emirates updates those old planes, they have to be careful not to be downgraded in the eyes of many customers- most airlines offer better these days!
