Snack: This flight does a triangle - Tokyo-Syd-Brisbane-Tokyo. The Sydney-Brisbane leg got a meal for a 1 hour flight and we got a snack shortly after take off. They were ok, but it would of been good if they make it clear before hand. I had eaten at the airport, but didn't over do it as I was expecting something more. Breakfast: By this time I was relatively hungry. (There were snacks onboard) The bacon was ok but the eggs were a bit rubbery and in one lump as if they'd been baked rather than scambled and then cooked. The baked beens were a little tasteless but the grilled tomatoe helped ad flavour. The potatoe salad was an odd addition, but perhaps this is for the japanese passengers. Lunch: The stew was tasty, but a bit too fatty for my liking. The chichen nugget strip was bizzare. It was processed chicken, not a strip of fresh meat. The dessert was reftershing. Prelanding meal: Probably my favourite meal on this trip. The pasta was just right and tasty. Really hit the spot and I could of had another one. The eggroll was a bit too much carbs, but I liked it with the japenese touch. It must be hard to cater to both asian and western tastes. The salad was ok, not as good as the salad I had on the outbound leg with onion dressing that was really good. The fruits were fresh and plump. Over all I liked the meals and was glad of my choices. I like JALs trays that have the heated bit in there so the food stays warm for longer. Staff were good and very prompt with regular drink runs and more was available in the galley if you wanted. Snackes included pretzels and and nutz and japenese crackers. The "house" wines weren't particualarly nice. Tried the red and white and left most of each bottle.
