The food was not that bad but could have been even better. The risolle or what the Germans call die Frikadelle is to Russian (rublenaia or minced) kotleta, and like for Germans it is somewhat of a culinary staple - ground beef and pork, with mild spices, formed into patty and either friend or grilled. The macaroni it was served with were bland. Nothing spectacular but still better than what most other European airlines serve on their flights. When it comes to beverages Pulkovo is generous – as this picture testifies – three cups of red wine right away just because I hinted I’d like more wine with my meal, and wine kept flowing until the landing . The wine, Bordeaux (Appelation Bordeaux Controlee, 2001), table wine, I think it was Chateau Le Perrier, was very fruity and dry – good stuff. They also had some merlot. I didn’t try the white wine. No beer this time. Would have given it 10 but that would do injustice to their other flights.
