On this return trip from LHR - SIN - AKL, I flew a total of 4 long flights with SQ and this flight was the best of them all! Why? The food was excellent but more importantly, the cabin crew were superb. They were pleasant, attentive and friendly. I guess that as this flight wasn't 100% full, they had more time for all passengers. Adeline, who was the stewardess looking after my side of the cabin was really good and looked after me very well. Back to the food... Appetiser and main were both good. I decided to break a habit of a lifetime and choose the non meat option and was surprised by how tasty the ravioli was... The kiwifruit cheesecake for dessert was fab. Light with a ever so slight sharpness and just what you need after a rich main course. Why can't other airlines serve desserts like this? ( I get indigestion when I remember the very heavy brownie that LH have in C-class for USA to Germany flights). We were lucky with the wine for this meal. The stewardess said that they had run out of the - in my opinion, rough - Y-class French red wine and she was offering a 1999 Hunters Pinot Noir (I think she said this was the First Class wine). I had no hesitation in asking for my glass to be re-filled! I very rarely give a score of 10 because, in my opinion, Y-class Airline food - no matter how well done - is never anything to get too excited about. However, for this flight, I think that the combination of good crew, good food and drink might even deserve this.
