The food was actually pretty nice. The oven baked scallop appetizer was good and the scallops were not overcooked. The soup was lovely and quail egg was still running and went well with watercress. Then the salad was fresh. The main course was a Book the Cook "Wagyu Beef," which was delicious. The dessert was the worst party of the meal - the matcha eclair was tasteless and the pastry shell was soft, not crispy. I gave it 5 points because I was not allowed to take the menu. The flight continued onto SFO so SQ no longer loaded extra copies for the onward flight. I know it is petty but for a first class airline and someone who paid full fare for this ticket, I should be allowed to take the menu home. I was not even taking the leather case.
